Cat and Fiddle 08 November 2015, 01:58:30 pm 282
On a quick weekend ride out, the A537 is a must. A bikers' favourite - the Cat and Fiddle Inn near Buxton.
Humber Bridge getaway 08 November 2015, 01:57:23 pm 285
Just 30 miles away, the Humber Bridge is a nice spot to stop for a light bite before heading up to Brid with Lyndsay Howden.
Another fantastic view of the Pyrenees 08 November 2015, 01:48:55 pm 269
It takes a lot of effort not to stop every few miles to take yet another photo of yet another fantastic view of the Pyrenees.
Some glorious views 07 November 2015, 10:06:34 pm 257
When planning for the big trip, me and Rod checked best routes, recommended hotels and places to visit. Rod had got a two week pass from his missus so we had plenty of time. We decided we weren't going to eat up mile after mile after mile, but take it easy and enjoy the ride. To be honest, you can't rip it up over the Pyrenees - the books are right, it's all ups and downs and tight twisty stuff. Incredible riding. With the plan in action, we made the most of it and stopped whenever we saw a view or a coffees top - which was often. We booked only the first two nights accommodation and the rest we just turned up and looked for somewhere. We nearly came unstuck just the once - in Hermani, France. Some bizarre bylaw doesn't allow hotels in town centre so we ended up on an industrial estate!
The beach at Perpignon 07 November 2015, 09:59:06 pm 236
From a snowy start at the top of the Pyrenees, to a baking 22 degrees at Perpignon.
Pas de la Casa, Andorra. 07 November 2015, 09:57:00 pm 232
After a glorious ride to the top of the pyrenees, we parked up across from a ski shop that was, being end of ski season, being turned into a bikers shop! The guys in there couldn't have been more helpful. They pointed us to the nearest hotel and told us where to go for eats and drinks and generally had a yarn about biking in the Pyrenees.
It was a tad cold but we didn't expect snow, and this was the result. My poor Fazer! She didn't complain tho. After a dusting off, she sparked up first time and we were away. A friendly local had written a greeting on our frosted screens.
On the Portsmouth - Bilbao ferry 07 November 2015, 09:50:43 pm 317
