I've just been browsing ebay looking at stainless exhausts and come across motad and sandy bike spares downpipes, does anyone have experience as to which are better quality?
Also like the look of the delkevic 350mm stubby tailpipe, how well do they fit and what quality?
I don't suppose the chemical metal I've just blobbed in the collector will stay there long so I guess I will have to spend some cash, must admit I prefer the idea of it staying in the uk than going to china or similar.
All opinions/experience appreciated.
I was also after a gear position indicator but have had no response from ledgear, have they gone bust? I've since bought a second hand neutral switch and added extra contacts for the gears but still waiting on the display bit turning up to try it out.

I have the Motad downpipes. Bought them directly from the company as they didn't have any on ebay when I needed them a couple of months ago. I paid £134.99+£12.86 for postage. Ask for that price and you will get it.
I'm very pleased with them. The quallity is fine, but the finish is not perfect. But that's ok considering the price and the motads have the link pipes between the downpipes. Some of the cheaper ones don't
Don't know about the delkevic pipe. I have a Viper end can that I really like the sound of.

Do you need it for MOT or just an upgrade ?

I have a full mot and a perfectly good end can but the collector is rotten and I've never owned a bike I couldn't hear before so I recon it's time for good downpipes and a throatier sound.

I got the full motad venom setup a few months back and am very happy with it, think it cost about £250 for the lot posted and doesn't sound too bad either for the price. Didn't get any gaskets with it though.
Make sure you start spraying penetrating oil on the header nuts every day a week or so before you take the old ones off.

I've Motad downpipes and a Viper end can bought from Sandy Bike Spares a few years back. The can was cheap, but can't say it has much else to recommend it.
Fitting was a problem. The link pipe provided was so short that the can had to be mounted right at the tip to give enough clearance between the can and the swingarm.
Finish wasn't too impressive either... don't know if the thing hadn't been anodised, but after a couple of weeks winter riding the shiny aluminium surface was dull and pitted.
Sound... rather subjective, but a bit raspy above 6000 for my tastes. Not wanting to give the plods any additional excuses to pull me over for a roadside chat meant I only rode with the removable baffle out once.

When you say about the finish are you talking about the end can or downpipes? I'm assuming you mean endcan by anonising, what are the downpipes like for fit and quality?

Yes, it was the Viper can I was moaning about. The downpipes looked fine for a couple of years, not quite so pretty now... even stainless isn't immune to salt. They went on with no problem other than the usual fight with nuts that had rusted onto the studs.

Cheers for that I thought that might be the case, I recon they might get the downpipe sale and still fancy the delkevic can, I'll see if they can do a cheaper price if I pick up as I'm only 5 miles from sandy, cash might help too.

i have to agree about the motad headers i dont have a pipe worx end can they fitted together perfectly

I have fitted Motad, delkavich, & Sandy bike spares pipes to bikes before.
Motad I can't fault and are a truly excellent product.
Delkavich from DK in Staffs are normally Ok but in more recent years the quality and fit seems to have gone downhill.
Sandy bike spares .... Hmmm used em a few times as my workshop is just up the A1 from them... I have had some real issues with thier stuff like the headers not lining up etc etc
BUT you get what you pay for I guess

Just fitted downpipes from sandy bike spares and stubby tailpipe from delkevic, looks and sounds great, fitted like a glove, less than 45 minutes and it's running and sounding good (admittedly I'd already removed the old exhaust last night).
Well chuffed!
