Hi all,

17/11/16: Sadly have to part ways with my Fazer after 6 years ownership. I am moving abroad, you must be able to collect the bike from Surrey in a van/trailer within one week  - by Thursday 24th November. The price is a firm £800 cash. No negotiation as if it doesn't sell for this I have already got the okay to store with a family member so I simply won't sell.

If you can, you are in luck. It has been cared for and has a high specification as below, incl the R6 shock mod, fork cartridge emulators, heated grips, custom paint & seat, full Motad SS exhaust.... etc.

Overview

Purchased in Jan 2011 from a dealer in Oxford. I've done about 30k of the 56k miles on the clock. Used for some commuting and pleasure incl trackdays, 2 tours of France, IAM and Foc-u member rides but always meticulously maintained and cherished. Has had lots of upgrades during it's time with me (& money spent *sob*). Not been used since 2015 when I got a ZX9R and a car. I intended to return it to standard for sale but a couple of family bereavements and a relocation abroad since then has got in the way. Hence it's on here now. I used to be pretty active on the forum, met several members on ride outs a few years a go so maybe a few Foccers will remember me or the bike.

Current condition and what it needs

It has been laid up for over a year, covered in my garden, carbs drained and fuel stabiliser in tank. I recently refit the battery (which has been kept charged) and got it running with zero drama. Test ridden and it rides with no major issues. Having said this, there are a few things it needs and I would like this bike to go to somebody who knows their way around a bike and prepared to get it running perfect.

Firstly it needs a MOT and road tax as it is SORNed. So needs collection in a van/trailer.

Wants a service, oil and filter at least. I think it needs a new chain as there is a big tight spot (unless you manage to free up the DID gold x-ring chain but I have failed). Needs a once over and may need adjustments here and there - felt like the head bearings could do with tightening up (bearings should be fine as they are not so old & good Koyo tapered). I didn't notice anything else and am confident there are no nasty surprises but do not expect it to ride perfectly until you've given it a bit of a spruce & service. The specs are good though and it is mechanically sound. Rode very well on trackdays and fast roads, I really enjoyed it.

Cosmetically it tends to scrub up really well as per the photos but it's not perfect. As you get closer there will be marks as you would expect from a bike that's been ridden. It has been doused in acf50 in my ownership but there are spots of corrosion here and there, usual suspects, forks, rear caliper (centre stand & side stand powdercoated a few years ago). The paint is generally good but there are stone chips and marks here and there. There are two chips on the tank but not too conspicuous. The larger one is on black paint and could be touched up if it bothers you. I was going to but covered it with some black electrical tape temporarily and you can hardly notice it so left at is (for 4yrs now). Overall with the custom paint job (done by a highly regarded shop - search him Dennis of D-Luck's) and other nice bits I think it looks pretty good.

Front sprocket nut mod/upgrade done
Camchain replaced
Koyo tapered head bearings installed
Suspension linkage block bearings renewed
Centre stand and side stand (and maybe a few other things) were powdercoated
Consumables like wheel bearings, fuel filters, bolts and so on.... have been always been renewed as and when needed.

Any questions please ask  :)

A couple of questions.
When did the MOT run out?
Where in Surrey?
Another ex-Fazer rider that is a foccer again

The MOT ran out in 19th Sep 2015.

Just looking at the MOT history. Last advisory was in 2010 for a damaged rear tyre valve stem, notchy head bearings, worn front discs - all resolved (front discs were replaced when the silver-pot calipers were installed)

I'm in Morden so Surrey/London border.

Just edited the description to say it's available until Thursday the 24th Nov now.

Just to be clear, also added that it would benefit from an oil and filter change.

It's a nice bike fella buuuuuuuut,

It needs a chain and sprocket, service, front tyre and MOT (hopefully a pass). Reckon you're better off getting hold of the family member for storage. Just my 2p
Those are my principles...if you don't like them I have others.

Well done Fuzzy, good result and by the look of it the buyer has a good deal for sure.
Chain, Sprockets, Front Tyre, Oil Service & Mot £200-£220 tops.
For a little over Grand he has a much improved very tidy looking bike.  :lol :D

Cheers, I'm glad it's gone to a nice bloke who will enjoy it. Better than an breaking it for parts as it served me well :)
