trying to insert notes in the peage machine in the pissing rain, and keep them dry, is certainly a challenge.
A good read. 8 quid a pint! I nearly fell over when the barman said "dix huit", for 2 pints. I thought maybe he was anti English but a sleazier bar a few doors down charged 7 euros. At the track it was 6 and I expect they paid about 40 cents a litre for it. Was certainly an eye opener as it was only 2 years ago when I was last in France.
.....would of been better with pictures though

I suppose the other option would be to make sure you've a good stash of 1 and 2 euro coins,so there'd be no problem in the rain and no hidden charges.Calais to Reims is roughly 14 euros on a bike.
Yep, Premery on the D977.Would have called in for a cuppa if I'd known. The killer diversion on the way home was the closing of the N77 (Auxerre to Troyes) forcing us due north to Sens. They don't mess about with their roadworks, just shut the road, sorted.Never mind about anyone else.
A mate of mine moved near to the Mayenne area a couple of years ago. Somewhere near Gorron. We went down to him last year, lovely area.
