Do you still have the centre stand? If so, could you take a pic?
Cheers in advance!
hi mr noble.....yes still have the stand.want to keep it until the engines sold so i can start it for new owner....are you in a rush ?.
Cheers for getting back to me. No rush at all. The H-link on mine has broken, but going to remove and attempt to weld with the help of my cousin. But incase that doesn't work was looking to get a replacement in the works. Just give me a shout whenever you are ready. Thanks again!

Hi, Great to hear you are getting back on the bike, I can certainly sympathise with the "itch". In my humble opinion the FZS 600 03 is a great bike. My one has been an absolute joy. The engine is as sweet as it gets in "600 land". There is a little gap in the power mid revs, but it still puts a smile on my face. It is also pretty comfy. I am 6ft 4 and don't have any real issues. Handles well. I put new rubber on last March (Metzeler Z8 Interacts) and they transformed the bike for me; especially in the wet. Either way though, the bike is a doddle to ride. My Dad has an 09 FZ6 and although still a great bike it just doesn't quite have the same fun factor for me (sound and performance). I have made several mods to counter some of its weaker points: stainless steel downpipes; braided hoses front and rear; exhaust (just for fun); replaced rear calliper with an FZS1000 blue spot (the rear calliper on the 600 is basically worthless); rear shock (changed out for a Nitron - fully adjustable); heated grips; belly pan. If you do decide to go for the FZS 600, I would try to find one with the downpipes already replaced. Good luck with everything.

I have an 03 600, so this might not be relevant, but last year I fitted Metzeler Z8 Interacts front and rear. Best tyre I have had and after 9000 barely showing wear. Especially good in the wet.

I concur with Packie. I put the 1000 calliper on my FZS600 03. It definitely fits with a tiny bit of grinding. You will notice the extra power, but the main thing is that it doesn't bind/seize. Another relatively cheap mod that you will definitely notice the difference from is fitting braided hoses. I have done this on the front and back. Well worth the money.
Good luck finding a calliper, they are hard to come by but not impossible. I got mine from a breaker on Ebay. I will keep an eye out.

I am convinced, Heavy Duty Gold DID Kit it is. Completely agree on the cleaning/maintenance point made earlier. Believe me I have tried! Been through a large can of Wurth Dry Chain Lube since the beginning of Jan as I have been applying it every day and clean chain at the weekend wash. However, I ride every day. And where I live (Aberdeen) is corrosion heaven at the best of times, but with all the snow and resulting treatments of the road it has been a losing battle. Spots of rust appearing in various places and the chain is one of them despite my best efforts . So, as it has never been changed under my ownership I though an overhaul for the spring would be worth it. Cheers again for all the help, invaluable.

Hi all, Looking for any advice on the best chain to buy? My chain has taken a beating over winter and will change it out in a month or so. Cheers, as ever!

I managed to win a place on the Bennetts Ultimate Track day at Oulton Park next Tuesday . This mine and my Fazer's first track day . Anyone got any track related "Fazer specific" tips (set-up, riding or otherwise) and/or experiences to share?

Thanks for all the advice. Solar panel charging is interesting; nice on RedRag. Everyone i speak to seems to either love them or hate them. Not sure. The Datatool Demon certainly seems like a "cheapish" option and would offer some insurance reduction.

Thanks for the recommendation. Yeah he is definitely paying. He even tried to tell me that I should be more careful as the bike may hit other cars parked next to it when it falls over!! I politely explained to him that this would only be the case if people continued drive into it. Never mind the fact that it is parked in the middle of a space and highly unlikely to hit an adjacent vehicle. Absolute moron. Typical car driver who doesn't know squat about motorcycles/motorcyclists. If it was a car he hit his attitude would have been completely different. And he didn't quite understand why I was so upset, not realising that what is just an object to him is like a son to me!!! Anyway, thanks again for the hint. Managed to get a cover. The side panel is proving more tricky as there are plenty of them out there, just not in blue!!

Hi all, A guy who lives in my block drove into my FZS with his car the other day while it was parked in a space (for the second time this year). Suffice to say he is not my favourite person. Anyway, this time around damage includes: 1. Left side rear side panel (blue; panel no. 5). 2. Deeply scratched crankcase cover: EG; Looking for replacement parts so any help, advice, pointers as to where i could locate used spares of this kind would be gratefully received by an angry Fazer rider. Hope everyone is well, Christopher
