fuel tank rattle
« on: 19 November 2014, 01:57:39 pm »

since buying my project bike space has been tight in my garage, resulting in me have to lean the fazer over as gently as i could onto my scrap collection dustbin. yes, i dropped it - slowly. doing my best to hold it at quite a steep angle i yelled for mrs bludclot to come and help and together we saved it from going down completely.

the tank and front fairing were scratched, everything else stayed contact free. so tank and fairing came off and paint man said that he could mop the tank back to perfect. while emptying it of fuel there was rattling from inside, so i spent a frustrating hour with the sender unit out trying to coax some wretched bits out of the tank.

and do you know what they were? no prize for the correct answer, i'l post it on friday giving two days guess time.
is it clean enough?

No idea what the bits are, except maybe rust, but really sorry to hear about your mishap.  Knowing how pristine you keep your Fazer, that must have been a bad night for you.

I'm sure you'll have it polished back to perfection soon, though. :)

It's amazing g just what you find in fuel tanks, especially in older bikes!
So far I've found.
Stubby screwdriver,
Keyring,
Select screws and nuts (not the edible type)
And a shoe buckle!!!! ;D
Stop polishing it and ride the bloody thing!!
