I need to get out more
« on: 20 March 2023, 05:13:27 pm »
Took the bike to the MOT station this afternoon, passed with no advisories, but how sad that I only rode 1400 miles last year, with a third those on track at Donington.

I know what you mean, my MOT is due and I've barely done 3k since the last one :(

I would hazard a guess that my two bikes have done less than 100 miles in the last 2 years between them. I definitely need to get out more - need to fix the FZS and MOT both first though.

Just waiting for a dry couple of hours now, then covering the wheels up and wafting the bike over with ACF50. I do it 2 to 3 times a year to try to keep the corrosion at bay. I washed and dryed it before taking it for MOT. When I was at the petrol station last, they'd no E5 again, seems a regular occurrence now, is it a backlash against E10?

Just had a new rear tyre fitted today. Changed it a little early at 5539 miles, as have a trip to France in a few weeks, and didn’t want to push my luck puncture wise in wringing the last 700ish miles out of it. The old tyre was fitted last May and I took the bike off the road for winter in late October. Last years bike season on the Fazer averaged 1100 miles a month. About to do a 2nd valve clearance check this weekend at 51k, so 43k miles have rolled under her wheels in the last 7 years of my ownership. The advantage of retirement, is time on your hands, the disadvantage being lack of money in your pocket :lol .

22 miles covered since autumn 2021 ☹️
Good news is a little trip to the continent planned for May so should do 2500 miles in a fortnight 😀

Hey all, it's been a while since I've been on here, same as the bike, took mine for an MOT last week and same boat, less than 1000 miles last year :-(

We need a LOFO day out.
