And anyway, the question on the paper was to 'leave the European Union', not 'leave the Single Market and the Customs Union'. It's some politicians who have taken that decision. That's not democracy

Nothing wrong with being anti Trump/Brexit/ whatever. They're as entitled to their views as anyone.

It's all these underhand attempts to try to reverse democratic decisions that gets my goat.

I don't like Corbyn, but if he won a free and fair election I would defend his right to travel freely, be heard and represent the office of Prime Minister.

I don't remember all this wining from those that voted against joining the common market back in the 1970s. What we are in now was not what the majority voted for then, certainly not to be ruled by a dictatorship in Europe.

I don't think you understand socialism. The point of socialism is to enable everybody to drink champagne. Whereas working class Tories think that because they can't afford to drink champagne, other people shouldn't be allowed to

I'm not here to do anything for any union?
 What i have done though is put money into the country by getting a job 2 weeks after leaving school and never being out of work since.
 As far as my interest can stretch on this subject, it would appear that Labour is the immigrants friend, and Tories are the rich mans friend.
 I'm neither.

Democracy is what it is.  The people will only get out of it what they put into it.  As I say the people will get the government they deserve.

People do not necessarily change their views or their outlook because of the result of a referendum or election.

Thanks to many MP’s in the Labour Party, the Labour party has lost the last two elections.  They refused to accept the democratic will of the membership and undermined first Ed Miliband and then Jeremy Corbyn.  Such was the arrogance of these MPs that they even held and won a vote of no confidence in their leader Jeremy Corbyn.  Corbyn was then re-elected with an even bigger majority.


It is because of those anti-democratic MPs, who thought that they knew better than the membership of the party that the UK is in the current mess that it is today.  Those MP’s along with their supporters in the Trade Union Movement denied the people of this country a Labour government twice over. 



There never should have been a referendum on the EU.
But what we need now is a second referendum on the EU.

And keep going until we decide to stay in, then give Scotland referendums on independence until they vote to leave, then ban referendums forever.

Come on, the referendum was held, we voted to leave, politicians SHOULD be running this country according to the will of the people, and they are still arguing. Theres no argument for ANY political party, they should all be working together to find the best deal for us. The people who they should be SERVING.

Or don’t bother – just stick Brexit in the bin.  We don't need a second, never mind a third.  It was a consultative referendum, it is not legally binding.  We are after all a representative democracy, and if the MP’s voted in the best interests of their constituents and the country as a whole it would be binned.


The leave campaign was driven on the back of bare faced lies, such as the 350 million a week for the NHS, right through to Turkey joining the EU and the whole population of Turkey moving to the UK.  Not to mention UKIP breaking point immigration poster.  Is this democracy?  I don't think so.


As Mtread points out, the referendum didn’t even define what leaving the EU meant.  Indeed, many BREXIT campaigners assured us we would still have access to the single market after leaving the EU!

Theres no argument for ANY political party, they should all be working together to find the best deal for us.

The best deal for the UK is to stay in the EU. 



Not to mention my country voted overwhelmingly to remain in the EU, only England and Wales voted to leave.   Surely Scotland and Northern Ireland should remain - we voted to remain.


 
Meanwhile the UK is going nowhere politically, we are stagnating, whilst our idiotic leaders figure out how we are going to achieve what nobody ever thought would happen - what nobody made any plans for or even thought seriously about for one minute.  Let’s face it, they still ain’t even sure it’s even possible aside from the fact it is most certainly not desirable.
