Where's the best deal for a battery !
« on: 12 August 2012, 03:27:19 am »
I noted today as I had left my bike untouched and not plugged in for 2 wks when I came to start as I turned the ign on and the fuel primed things sounded slow, dab of the magic button confirmed and it clicked struggling to start.

So it's not had a battery since I've had it and looks original and always optimised so I'll treat it too a new battery.

Best deal for battery online ! (gen1)

Thx Dave

I have bought batteries from this website 3 times. 1 car and 2 leisure batteries and they've been great. Always went for numax brand.

Caveat: Never bought bike battery from them, but have no reason to doubt they'd be great again.

Dont be tempted with the cheapy ones, like £25,,seems like £40 to £60 and it will do the job.
I know its only the internet but they are real people ! ain't they?

I agree go for YUASA if you can (IMO anyway). i have been through umpteen batteries and this brand seems to last longest.
MDS seen ok and they have an Ebay shop with the batteries at a lower price : http://compare.ebay.co.uk/like/300683821608?var=lv&ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar&cbt=y
I actually bought my last battery for my Gen 2 from Tippets Honda as they were 1/2 the price of anyone else. Great service too.
Worth giving them a call to see if they have your specific model (Tel: 0208 399 7449)

Piece of Piss m8

remove the bolts holding the black and the red cables (theres meant to be a sequence, but I can never remember it)

once the cables are off you can lift the battery straight out. sometimes you may want to lever out with screwdrivers from each side (tight fit) - make sure you protect the frame from scratching

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - strawberries in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming - WOO HOO! What a Ride!"
