Well done fizzy. When I did mine the rain got progressively worse throughout the test. My observer had said that the examiner I was booked in with liked to see spirited acceleration up to the speed limit. ..
The examiner pulled me over and said "answer honestly- have you span up the back wheel today? I've been closing my eyes at every junction!"
I told him I spend at least 50% of the time riding in the rain and this was the 2nd Fazer Thou I'd ridden into the ground. He cut the test short (no motorway 70mph bit) and passed me there and then!

No, IAM makes you slow, ROSPA adds dangerous road positioning to the test

respect for the blood bikes fizzy
unless things have changed, when I done IAM you passed and if you never rode again, you were still an advanced rider. With RoSPA, the 3 year retest keeps your skills up (hopefully)....there's 3 passes....bronze (often said to be the same as IAM though some argue that a silver is the same as IAM), Silver and Gold, Gold being the best there is for civvies
BTW, did you notice the wren just to the right of the chaffinch?

Bravo!
BTW regarding the 3 year re-test, IAM have now decided to go one "better" and introduce their Masters qualification which has a *two* year re-test!

Gra.....is that for the Masters riders only though?
I'm aware of the Masters pass but isn't it another level of IAM, not something fizzy would do walking in off the street. I done my IAM skills for life and hadn't heard of the F1RST at the time
all things being equal, any further training is great and there shouldn't be any politics with IAM/RoSPA as to who's best. I learnt a lot at IAM but would love to achieve a RoSPA Gold after getting a good silver
congrats to anyone who passes any advanced test

Yes. The standard Skills for Life "Green Badge" pass is, as it suggests, "for life" (although you are encouraged to get re-assessed, but that's not compulsory).

So they can now charge you to do their test every two years instead of every three? Wonder why they did that? Bit of a money making exercise maybe?
Maybe in the future they'll reduce it to every year for an extra superdeedooper grad master elite squad force badge
Well done on passing your test though. The more training everyone gets the better however I wouldn't be doing it just get the shiny sticker off them but each to their own

the price of the 3 year retest is already covered from when you join/pass your initial test
