SUZUKI BURGMAN

Hello Foccer's, I don't know why but I keep looking at these and thinking I'd like to have a go on one. My local dealer has a 400 and 650cc one in and offered to throw me the keys to have a go. I declined as I just couldn't bring myself to jump on one as people were looking.
So, has anyone ridden one, owned one and what are they like. ? Or should I just stop being a c*nt and get the thought out of my head.

I hired a 650 one on holiday.
Had an absolute blast on it, flicked it around like a sportsbike, as comfy as your sofa.
I'd have one (but a Beemer) if money wasn't an issue.

Apparently you can mod them pretty well.

Its one of those bikes that most people would probably have a hoot on but they are worried too much about what other people might think. There's a lot of bikes around like that and a lot of people too. A chap at work bought a spanking 650 a couple of years ago and he does regular trips abroad on it with other folk on sportsbikes. 1) he doesn't get left behind 2) he arrives with his wrists and back still intact.
He wouldn't be without it and he had a Honda Blackbird before that and prefers the Burgman.

Think you're absolutely right there Lez, A friend of mine has one and an R1 and he goes touring the continent on the Burgman. He says the same and his lady friend won't let him get rid of it. I just like the idea of jumping on and twist and go in relative ease and comfort. A lot of my friends are scooterists and go on the rallies and keep trying to get me on one of those horrendous monstrosities but I draw the line somewhere.

I think if you had one you'd need to make it ridiculous with some crazy bling or high viz & you can only have one if you are able to ride it hard enough to smoke bikers on proper bikes....& video it coz it would be so funny to watch.

Seen plenty on my commute up the M3 , cruising at 70/80 and look stable and comfy . I would consider one as a second bike for sure.
Never seen one out on a sunday blast tho . Would be funny as fuck to see one wipe a proper sports bike out

I think my biggest worry is once I have a go, I would like it that much I'd have to get one and then get great pleasure in leaving Midden behind on a Foccer ride out.

Try before you buy, I used a dealer demo model for a blat out one day, really good fun but, really gave me a back ache, seating position don't suit all.

I had a loan 650 whilst my GS500 was in for a service at Fowlers , I rode from Bristol to Cheltenham up the M5 , cruised comfortably between 80 - 90 , and lots of room under the seat , if I had an office job , I would definitely have one as a commuter .

I pulled up next to one last year at a set of traffic lights.
I was sat on the Boxeye and nodded to the 60+ year old rider in an open face lid, jeans and wooly sweater sat next to me. Lights went green, and it rapidly fooked off!!!!! I was too busy pissing myself laughing to try and catch it.

This has happened to me too Stevie, except that I was totally out gunned away from the lights by one. By the time I selected 1st, took my clutch to the bite position, did a last check in my mirrors to make sure another biker wasn't trying to buzz past me and increased my revs he was gone.
My other worry is that I will become one of those irritating twats that buzz past you around town on smaller bikes (usually with L plates) just to make the point that they are travelling quicker.

My first bike was a Honda Pantheon - basically a 125 version of the Bergman etc. Bloody great it was - quick off the lights and comfy. Did over 70 too.... If I end up commuting into Bristol again I'd probably get a 400 scoot.

I havent had much experience with the Burgman but have a had a 250 and 400 Yamaha Majesty which are great.... Once you get over the shock of riding a scooter. I have also ridden the Yammy T-Max which is just bonkers!

Mopeds are like fat birds. Fun to ride but you don't want to let your mates see it.

Scooters are for blokes that would really like a motorbike but prefer to feel the wind on their vagina.
