Southerners - its gonna be windy!

Tonight if your bike lives outside it will be blown over and tomorrow you will be crying and facing a hefty bill. Today is the day to make friends with someone who has a garage and beg or bribe him to take your pride and joy in for the night (or put it in the living room when the other half goes to bed.)

very windy now just got back from a ride to ivy hatch for dinner.even with my fat arse and my heavy gsx1250 was blown about

If u cant leave in a garage i would suggest parking it next to a wall with the side stand nearest the wall and also leave it in gear.

Exupnut - ah the old centre stand or side stand discussion. I've always thought it was more stable on the centre stand. One thing I would add - if you have to leave it out is to take off the sail / cover.

No need, just recovered mine from the paddock at the riding stables next door.  Wind had already removed the cover for me......

Did that here in Dorset a while ago......peeing it down now, wind not here yet!  Fazer is tucked up in the garage but Blade has to stay out but its between the house and the garage so hopefully a bit protected but we do back onto woods and through the woods is the sea  Gonna be an eventful night i think

lol, absolutely... although i will be pretty upset if anything does happen to the blade, i did consider bringing the Fazer into the house and bunging the blade in the garage but it would have meant the Fazer being in the conservatory which is a bit dodgy with the trees, wasnt prepared to take the risk

I have to say I'm a bit worried about mine. The forks are on route from Kebab after he did the emulator mod for me... which means the bike has no front end and is on it's centre stand and propped up on an old car rim under the downpipes.... in the middle of my drive. 

It's reasonably sheltered though and it's actually pretty secure on the rim, not budged at all in a couple of weeks and would take a lot to push it over - but am quite concerned nonetheless. Not a lot I can do though  Would've brought it into the living room if it were on 2 wheels. First time I've had the bike off the road like this and the worst storm in 25yrs comes along. Wish me luck!!!

  Liking the stone My fazzers outside , but put round back up against a wall and on centre stand. Bikes covered with bungies wrapped round it. Fingers x for all foccers out there

I was round at a friend's house earlier and as I was walking back I saw someone's bike (under a cover) lying flat on the ground obviously having been blown over.

I thought about picking it up, but figured that if I did, it would probably just get blown over again and cause more damage, so, with regret, I left it

Hmmm, reports on telly are looking shit. Trees gone down already. Still quiet here though (eery)

I've decided that if things kick off I'll have to resort to lying the bike down on a mattress on the drive
