Relays can be temperamental when old - especially in high temperatures as it was Friday (coils are tired and heat up with use causing the relay not to be effective). I'd be looking at replacing the 4 pin relay due to age. Just my 2p

Well the paint does not break down in petrol. So that filter is not going back in the bike - it's going in the bin.Want my bike back on the road, so ordered a paper Hiflo - in stock from wemoto - so fingers crossed I have it in a couple of days. Been using HiFlo oil filters for years. They seem good quality and I've had no issues. One wonders if HiFlow is the OE manufactuerer in any case.
Glad the filter is being binned - not worth the risk For what it's worth I've used Hiflo in all my bikes and cars for years 'n' with no issues. No plans to change.

First ride on my MT09 since being rammed off it on a roundabout by a blind bitch in a Range Rover Would have been back on bike sooner but after my knee injury was sorted my heart decided not to work like it should for a bit, then broke my right ankle when I fell whilst walking dog in the woods. Then a grand piano fell on my head
And the ACME rocket foot didn't work and ended up in a tree.

Not sure I would trust it to always restart myself.
On a vehicle where it's been designed to do it is one thing, all the various components will be designed to cope with the constant restarting, plus they have sensors/brains to detect when to not do it and let things recover.
I'll stick to letting it idle.
Well said and +1

If it's for electrical connectors then I use a fibre glass brush for the male connectors and a fine needle file for the female connectors.
The problem was the corrosion was also inside the crimped section.
I'd just like to be able to exclude moisture altogether.
With my job I'd say a shit crimping tool was used without Hellerman sleeving.

Why don't we all just pick a stretch of twisties, all use our own techniques, then see who finishes 1st and who bins it - problem solved......until we then are start arguing the toss about " yeah, but you've got got XYZ tyres and a steering damper" or "yeah but your front sprocket is +1 so you can use 2nd gear etc." or "yeah but you're a fat fuck so have more grip" Anyone up for a laugh.....600's and slow thous only

Haven't bought one in years. I use their website occasionally just to check basic reviews bit that's about it. If I get any bike related reading it tends to be RIDE magazine, and that's only if it's either free or very cheap
+1 for Ride mag. Yes it still has exotic road tests but tends to have "Buy a bike for 2k", "Best puncture kit, tank bags, touring tent & routes tyres etc". Tend to find I read more of it and keep it for reference.

Cars who park on the opposite side of the road facing you with their headlamps left on full. Why don't they have the common sense to turn them to side lights. Can't see much past them.
No amount of main beam (in car) from me makes them realise -they either flash back or give you finger salutes. Happening more and more these days...Grrrrrrrrrrrr!

After testing soooooo many my recommendation would the ear soft fx. they are comfy and give good sound reduction. If by basic ones you mean the EAR classic with a flat end then I found those the worse. I started with those many years ago as they were the most well known -go-to - get them everywhere but struggled with fit for various reasons I then went on a long quest to find something better, after many years trying different ones I had another go with them and realised they were not very good, for me anyway. To get a good sound reduction obviously you need to have a good fit and that is the problem with those classic ones.I have tried making my own outer ear ones with silicone putty (ebay )and were great while it was setting but moved around very slightly in the ear while riding (signing mostly or yawning on the straights ), maybe not soft /rubbery enough. My lid is a good fit and very tight getting it on and some plugs get dislodged at that stage, I have narrow ear canals and one bent ear canal and also get a build up of wax time to time so I do not like plugs all the way down. From an ebay seller I got a tester pack of 5 different ones, there are loads of different shapes and sizes.Always been too tight to pay for the proper made to measure ones.
Another vote foe Earsoft FX

Foccin advert breaks on the TV... anyone else think there are more and more adverts each break.. especially on some of the lesser channels. ☹️☹️
Yep and why is it that no matter when you change over it's ALWAYS on the advert break. Can they tell you've just switched?!.
Next time I'm going to leave the set on in the kitchen and run out to see if that's on the ads at the same time on the same channel
Thought it was just me

I think countersteering is sort of instinctive... It is, in that people are taught to lean into a corner. By leaning to the left, you push on the left bar, pushing the front wheel to the right, which makes the bike go left. So it’s not leaning that turns the bike but the pressure you apply to the bar by leaning.
So if you're going round say a left hand bend and look down at the handle-bars, they'll be angled to the right?. Umm no.
The answer is YES, the bars will be slightly angled to the right.

So if you're going round say a left hand bend and look down at the handle-bars, they'll be angled to the right?.
Try riding in a straight line at about 30-40mph in the center of the road.....then just nudge the left bar forwards quickly and release, a bit like nudging a door open. The bike will quickly move to the left about 1.5 feet and return to a straight line. If you nudge the right bar forwards then likewise the bike will quickly move to the right. Remember....JUST A NUDGE. The longer you nudge each side forward the further you will travel across the road. Once you get the hang of it it's very useful for avoiding potholes, cats etc and then start trying it when cornering. Slowly, slowly fella.

If you're going round a left hand bend and look down at your bars then yup they will be angled to the right.........at the same same as you've realised you've ploughed the hedges on the opposite side of the road and binned it

yes well...I think countersteering is sort of instinctive...whats confusing is that one camp insists that TRAIL BRAKING is the way to go, while another claims engine braking and off-throttle is better...I have been trying trail braking, I think it helps the bike turn, rather than just slowing down on approach and off the brakes before turning....
Trail braking will help the bike turn (loads the front) but a balanced throttle and counter steer will help you more.

VNA - feel like apologising ??? I am at a loss as to what I am to apologise for. I doubt you've ever apologised for anything in your lifetime
And yet again at 11.30pm - you really are a spineless self righteous cunt. A patronising, arrogant waste of space. Wow! My access to this forum is being monitored by another member. I didn’t even know you could do that. It perhaps suggests you have issues Frosties. Yup...I have a serious issue with you. Though on a positive note, well if this is all you have to get mad and upset at, then lucky you! Lucky me is when you can say it to my face.
Donald Trump laying a reef at the D Day Commemorations frankly makes me wanna puke.
Bullshit, waffle and general bollocks from a shameless self righteous cunt - Just let me know when you plan a tour and post up your itinerary so we can talk about it

Why not open your mouth and explain why no apology is required ??? You're always more than happy to be a gob shite elsewhere so balls in one hand and type with the other.
And again today at 1pm........but still no balls to reply. How about you simply modify your feckin offensive cartoon then you won't have to type jack shit. Tw@ !!
