General / Re: Orlando in July?

Oh I like the sound of a fan boat - maybe a few beers before would make it all make sense!! (joking!).

Daytona Beach and swimming with manatees are good shouts too -  I need to go for a month not two weeks!

Maybe unusally I am conscious of the power of the sun. We've been to e.g. Cyprus in August and wouldn't even contemplate a water park until we were more accustomed to the heat and made sure we were well covered up - makes you go faster on the slides too  :lol

Would have been good to see a launch but looks like nothing scheduled for early July. Would still be good to visit though.

We're looking at a FlexTicket plus which gives access to:

  • Aquatica, SeaWorld's Waterpark
  • Universal Studios Florida
  • Universal's Islands of Adventure
  • SeaWorld Orlando
  • Wet 'n Wild Orlando
  • Busch Gardens
  • Tampa Bay
  • Universal CityWalk
We're not interested in the Mickey nonsense - just rides and fun.
Also debating whether to "treat" ourselves to Premium Economy for the flights. I have a dodgy knee so extra legroom could be hugely beneficial for a 9 hr flight!

Love the comment about the car windows - I'll bear that in mind Didier  :lol

Many thanks Didier9. The "kids" are 17 and 15 so sounds like FastPass is a must!

Not fussed about alligators - that's what the BBQ is for right!!!!

Unfortunately we can't choose when to go - missus holidays are hard to get and had to be booked well in advance so July is the only option. Just trying to work out whether to book a package through Virgin holidays or book it all separately.

I'm under pressure from SWMBO and kids to book Florida for a summer holiday - I'm not convinced!

Anyone got experience of going through Virgin (holidays not anything else....)? I'm sure the parks will be heaving and mega hot/sweaty!

For Sale & Wanted / Re: Wanted - Fazer/Fzs/FZ6

Well done passing your test. A Fazer 600 will be a cracking first bike for you and you'll find this forum amazingly helpful  :D

That looks in cracking condition Panthor. I may be in the market for a 600 myself depending on what happens job-wise (interview tomorrow). I'll keep my eyes open  :eek

Just the end can I'm afraid

I found it wasn't really practical to rest my leg on the crash bung. Raising the seat height shouldn't significantly affect handling at all. I'm sure several will testify that I'm not "hampered" on the blade at all - only downside is it makes it harder to get the knee down (that's my excuse anyway!)

Same as I had it raised by. Check out the pic of the repsol blade at http://www.caulfieldleather.co.uk/gallery3.html for an idea.

I'm in the same boat as you but opposite legs - left leg is knacked. I bought a blade and had to get the seat raised but Caulfield Leathers did a cracking job and 6 years on it's still very well padded and stitching is all perfect. I'm not affiliated to them - just a happy customer. I went from it being sore after 10 miles to being able to do 3000-4000 miles round Europe with no issues.

12
I forgot - I've also got a standard exhaust if that's of use to anyone?

13
Just after I bought the bike I was heading down a dual carriageway (at 70 m'laud) and I felt something hit my boot. It was the left bung which hadn't been properly tightened by the previous owner grrrr. Had to buy a pair hence having one left over. I've also got an extra spare base plate lol!!

Yup I'm up for it. I'd prefer to go Balloch - Drymen A811 route to get to Stirling if anyone fancies that route on the way. Meet at Dunglass services at 0845?
