Fz6 lowered front forks
« on: 28 June 2013, 07:21:01 pm »
Just been changing the front wheel bearings on my recently purchased 2004 fz6 and i've noticed that the front forks have been lowered ( dropped down through the yokes ) by about 15mm. Just wondering why this would have been done by the previous owner, and what the benefits / drawbacks of doing this will be? I'm tempted to put it back to standard, whats your opinions please?

Possibly lowered for a vertically challenged previous owner?

Doing this will sharpen the steering angle, it's all up to rider preference, same goes for the rear.

Thanks for the replies, are there any downsides to leaving it as it is, ie, lowered. Will it increase front tyre wear for example?
