It could still be the wires that lead from the front wheel to the clocks as there are 3 wires inside the protective covering, if I have this correct then 1 is for the Speedo needle and the others (as I say if I'm correct) are for the odometer. The needle should bounce up a bit when you start the bike (well it does on mine but only a tiny bit). might also be worth checking everything is plugged in firmly behind the clocks as you will be suprised what crazy things electronics can do when not plugged in properly  :lol

Welcome to the Nut house  :b :rollin :b

I quite like that gold and black look, you don't see many of that colour scheme on the road, but they are not as fast as the red ones  :lol :lol

Is it just the speedo thats not working or is it the rev counter as well not working?
If it's just the speedo then you might have a broken wire leading from the reader on the front wheel to the speedo, mine broke the other day and a quick blob of solder, heat shrink and electrical tape and it is as good as new.

I was shocked at how much I love my Fazer as I was always into sports bikes but the Fazer has completely changed my view on preferred bike types. Really glad you're  enjoying yours  :D

FZS600 Fazer / Re: Clocks dull on high beam

Can't say I've heard of that as a common problem as not seen it on my 99reg or my mates 03reg. Has the bike been sat for a long time (meaning weeks or months) as it could be a low battery charge. They should check it but you will be surprised how the simplistic thing can be missed  :D

She's got one dipped beam and the other hi-beam.  :b

 :rollin :rollin :rollin

I've never understood why cyclists take all the padding off their seat and stitch it into their pants?!

Either that or it's just the wrong time of the month for her to wear tight fitting clothing  :rollin :lol :rollin

Do you have all 4 of the inlet manifold connecting rubbers, if so are they in good condition and how much?

Might be worth checking wheel bearings front and rear. Had a similar issue with my old FZR600 and it turned out my rear wheel bearings had gone causing misalignment.

you not tried a fender extender mate, that stops a hell of a lot of crap hitting them

I will be getting a fender extender, but I was tinking of the wrap idea as well (if it's any good) for extra protection

Very nice 8) but whats that wrap stuff round the down pipes?
stops crud hitting them so the previous  owner thought. Not looked under it yet

When you do look under it, let me know if the pipes are all in good condition as I ride mine in nearly all weathers and I'm looking for cheap ways to protect from corrosion.

Sounds good looking forward to the progress pictures.

I'm looking to get some pimping bits for my Fazer. I would like CNC machined handlebar grips and leavers in red and black . Seen a few I like on Evilbay but lacking funds at the mo, so it will all have to wait.

« on: 17 June 2016, 08:49:47 am »
Even when restricted though i'm sure they're meant to go faster than that, so something is certainly very wrong either way.

Depends on the type of restrictor fitted and where it's fitted (according to my engineer friends and co workers), as the one that was fitted to my FZR just killed the top end speed.
