I've had one sat on my shelf for about 8 years, meant to fit it to two tdm's and to my 8 but just never got round to it.
Got a quick shifter, a fixed front and rear camera dashcam, spotlights with tilt sensors and led bulbs to fit too. Don't think I'm going away this year so might get around to doing it all.

TBH I think it's a problem with the switch itself. I've had these fitted for about 18 months now but hate the exact same problem start just before Christmas and get steadily worse till they won't stay on at all. Thought it might be a voltage /battery/short problem but as above all that is fine. I'll be taking my switch apart when the weather warms up.
Switching off the sensor has them working correctly so the problem is in the sensor circuit somewhere.

If it helps, the manual for my fz8 says if the temperature reaches 130 degrees pull over and stop.
If you only got to 122 I reckon you're OK.

Iirc there is a spare fuse on most starter relays. Check the fuse rating though, mine came with something like 30 amp ones which is way more than required.

Have you tested the fan to be sure it's that and not something else causing it to not come on?

Yes, they're made to a price. Talon are better but renthal are the best. This is only my opinion of course.

Add I said, they tend to wear quickly and shorten the life of your chain.

Not tried anything different on mine but the tall yam one on mine works well for me.

God no, stay away from jt sprockets they will half the life of your chain. Renthal sprockets front and rear for me, 40000 miles on my current chain and only half worn.

Think I've got the tall yam one on mine and it does a good job for my 6ft.

What do you think, better or worse?

Picked up a brand new one on the Bay for 20 quid.
Might want to get a couple of huggers in too when you see them cheap. I've had one break every year but I do cover a lot of miles,  around 500/week.

First thing I did was put the rear end back to standard. Don't like the look of the tail tidy.

Oooh, which flavor did you get?

95
Thanks for the suggestion but my above opinion came from experience. Most difficult conversation I ever had asking my dad not to be part of my pit crew after all the time, effort, money and sacrifice over the years.

96
Got to agree with you there. I think next year will be his last chance. Ron's kudos can only go so far and I think if he's been sacked by Kawasaki then it's run out for good.
I do think however that Ron being in his pit all the time has not worked in his favor. He should have walked away and tried to be himself instead of being his fathers son.

I use acf 50 but maybe a bit more often than I should.
I wash the bike every week and reapply from a sprayer. 67000 miles in and she still looks like new after a wash.

Hell, I do a hundred miles every day just for work, that's not a ride, that's popping to the shops.
BTW let me know by 1430 so I can bring my tool home from the workshop.

Where are you based? I don't mind popping over to give advice/help out /bring my tool if you're within 100 miles of me and the rain  ain't torrential.

Fazer8 / FZ8 / Re: rear shock
« on: 07 October 2019, 11:05:18 am »
UK Yamaha don't deal with this problem.
There's us nothing wrong with the shock unit or it's operation, Yamaha have always produced under damped suspension on production bikes.
The only solution is replacing it with a decent after market unit or have the oem shock revalved.
I have and always will ride Yamaha, I like everything about the way the bikes work, power delivery, quality, chassis stiffness, braking. The only minus is the suspension, I've come to accept this and replace fork internals and rear shock as soon as possible.
