I'm running a 170 on the backand with a hugger. No problems with fitting and in my opinion the bike handles better

hi guys, just changed my engine over on my 2001 fazer, everything runs sweet as a nut but the only thing is, is that the oil light will not turn off! theres plenty of oil in there as topped up to the specified amount... could this be an engine management problem or something else? any help on trying to.get this light off would be muchly appreciated

Sorry guys I forgot to mention ( Stupid me ! ) That mine has had a subtle streetfight... So I have the twin headlights on it.. But judging by the comments on this it does appear that hopefully it'll get through when there're not working.. Cheers

Anyone know if my fazer needs sidelights to pass mot ?? Don't think they've ever worked since i've had the bike and this is the first mot i'm giving her.. I have working headlights ( low & High beam ) And there's obviosly no parking lights involved so in my opinion I don't see why I should need them but obviously I don't have a clue :/
Any Ideas ??

I've got a 50mm jack up kit on my fazer, So when it's on the center stand both wheels sit on the floor and i can't budge the bike either way. But when I needed to see if the rotation was okay for M.O.T I just put the bike on a little bit of a hill facing upwards and got somebody to push down on the back so the front would raise up.

Cheers guys ! Yes will have a friend help me out with the engine as he's training to be a bike mechanic so it's just a bit of practice for him really, but may I ask why it's got to be out the right side of the frame? Or is that a silly question ?? And the brakes, I may leave that to the guy doing the mot then, As if i mess around with the brakes, All kinds of things could happen and .... well could end badly so I'm going to play safe on that one Cheers once again

After 5 months of stupidly getting disqualified It's time for me to get my bike ready for june 22nd Basically the main thing that i've got to do is replace my engine and i'm asking whether anyone has done this and could possible give me a step by step guide if it's not to much trouble. Also i've noticed as she's been sat outside for a few months the brakes are sticking, took her for a little half mile run, got back and the discs where red hot and i'm guessing, Come MOT time it's probably going to fail on this. Is there anything I should do to the brakes to try and free them up a bit, or is it a sort of thing that would kind of fix its self as she starts riding again? Any help would be muchly appreciated as i've only got a month really to get her back and ready Cheers in advance

I was searching for months to find my replacement lump !! I wanted low mileage and very good condition! Managed to finally get one on ebay, Absolutley nothing missing, just a simple drop and swap. Although that didn't come cheap!! I think I won the item for £313 But for a 2002 lump with only 9,000 miles I thought it was a good price to pay Although I am still awaiting getting the engine in as I don't have the experiance to do it :/ And don't have the funds available at the moment to get the local garage to do it as there wanting £250 ! Althoughh I do wish you luck in Finding the lump as the dreadful slip of 2nd Happened to mine. But I will be back on the fazer hopefully soon

Hi there people!! it's come to the point of thinking of letting go of my fazer. It's just been sat outside since September due to me very, very stupidly loosing my licence for 6 months ( TW@ I knoww ) I'll just run through a few points. - 2001 yamaha fzs fazer 600
- 57,000 miles
- currently sorn ( which can be sorted as still insured)
- M.O.T literally ran out today but i personally think only a front tyre and she'll fly through.
- Renthal bars and dominator headlights.
- braided lines
- FZS 1000 rear caliper.
- Scott oiler
- Gold chain
- K&N air filter
- Done the mod a few weeks back which was on here changing speedo lights to blue.
Right, That's just a few pointers as to which I can remember off the top of my head. I'm thinking of selling as this is sadly one of the poor fazers that suffers that deadly slip of 2nd gear BUT it's not all bad as I have a replacement lump which is a 2002 model 600, And with only 9,000 (unverified) but that's what the ebay listing said, but that on it's own set me back a fair old bit of £££.I'm basically here to see if anyone would be interested in buying her or of some numbers in which I should sell for ?! Although still contemplating weather to sell both items seperatly as the engine is probably worth £300 easy, Or sell bike and engine together. Here's some pics ( quite recent ) just to let you guys know what she looks like, Bearing in mine she's a bit rough around the edges she's still not that bad..

Thankyou Cherokee I love the look of that. Looks so much better than the standard tail light. Is it just a direct replacemnet? Hopefully no need for resistors in there

Hi again peeps, What it is I've spotted a smoked LED tail light for the fazer 98-03 And I'm just wondering if anyone has bought one and fitted and weather they could give me their opinion as to what it looks like and possible upload a picture so I can see for myself. I'm considering getting it bust as it costs £50 I want to try and see what it looks like first but surely it's got to look better than the standard tail light.. Also just one more thing, I'm currently and the beginning of the revamp of my Fazer for the summer. Managed to get me a 2002 engine with only 9,000 miles on for a great price as my engine suffered from the what looks progressively famous the more I read about it slipping second gear!! But I'm in need of a chain and sprocket set and don't really know where to start... What's the best you would all recommend?? Cheers guyss Will look forward to hearing from you

Hi guys, I have a viper on my fazer and it is a very nice sound. Nice and deep and certainly louder then the standard one but not too loud that you have to cover your ears. I had my can stubbied though and that made all the difference especially along with a K&N Filter. Viper would be a very good choice
