Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: Carburetor maintenance kits for Gen 1
« Last post by Trebus on Today at 11:20:35 am »
Recently changed my o-rings.

Started with low end misfire. Carbs have Ivan’s kit and have always been a bit lazy with not changing down, easily accelerated from 30mph in top. But began bogging down towards the end of last year.

Seems to have cured it. Carbs were spotless internally so ruling out any other fuelling reason for poor running.

It's been a while since I sold by Foxeye and it's not looking like I'll be getting a replacement, so I'm looking to get rid of some of the spares I was holding onto 'just in case'.

All prices are including UK postage.  May be able to reduce postage when combining items.

1. Front Tyre - 110/70R17ZR Michelin Pilot Road 3.  Like new - less than one hundred miles running - still has most of the molding marks present.  £90

2. 4x unopened bottles of Scottoiler Blue oil. (500ml bottles).  £45

3. Silverline Tyre repair kit.  Used 2 of the repair strips, but everything else is there.   £10

4. 2x SBS 634HF Ceramic Front brake pads for FZS600   £50

5. 1x SBS 770HF Ceramic  Rear brake pads for FZS1000    £22

Like many of the original parts for our sublime machines, these brackets are now NLA from Yamaha, anyone know of dealers or a seller that specializes in new old stock parts?  This is the situation that eventually put me off my misguided obsession with old, large two strokes. :'(  But, 🤔 I suppose they have been out of production nearly 20 years!

Bank holiday at Goodwood. Shame it’s not the Festival of Speed or the Revival weekends, that would have been epic. :thumbup

Just back from Le Mans 24hr. EWC. Great few days away, and a pleasure to ride on pothole free roads for a change. The overnight temperatures were low, around the 2c mark, which made Saturday nights spectating a challenge, but nothing compared to that faced by the competitors.
Sert Suzuki won an exciting race, despite at one stage being relegated to 18th with a traction control issue. The Yart Yamaha favourites made it to 3rd after losing laps due to a crash.
Needless to say the Fazer ran faultlessly, despite being loaded with a mass of camping gear, and hopefully enjoyed her 740 mile whizz through northern France’s finest D roads.
