coolent hose swap 03 - 01
« on: 30 December 2015, 11:21:54 am »
I know that there has been topics on the topic of coolent hoses before but I couldn't see the answer to my question....

has anyone attempted to swap the coolent hoses from another engine ie a 2003 fzs600 or an fzs1000 onto an 2001 fzs600????

Would imagine that all the 600 models were the same.

All the 600 models are the same fox-eye hoses will fit box-eye and box-eye fit fox-eye.  FZS1000 won't fit any of the 600s

I see what you mean now.
To be honest, that's a badly worded advertisement, because it should really say '98-'03 FZS 600 if they are the correct parts.

It's not for us to make the call with this particular ad, you really need to confirm fitment with the seller, and maybe even mention what i just said, because it is a bit vague.

Judging by the look and shape of these ones for comparison, i'd hazard a guess that they are the same for all of the FZS600's and the FZ6 models.
I'd still want it confirmed by the seller though if i was you.

Hi those will not fit an FZS 600 (98 to 03), they will only fit an FZ6 which was the later model built from 03 to 11.

Cheers,

Chris

The first two that are unavailable and just short straight bits either side of rad, which you could you some generic piping for. Mounts up if buying new, tots up to about £170 the lot from Fowlers. If only there were enough people to get silicone set sorted by someone like Samco or the like... Last time I spoke to them, they said they'd do it if there were 15-20 buyers and someone could provide stock hoses as a template.

We did get a group buy organised for a set of silicone hoses and it was successful, got them made by sfs performance which are a uk based company. However all attempts since to organise another group buy have failed and for some reason sfs have been unwilling to sell individual kits even though they have all the correct tooling already. Sorry I can't be more help.

I've been looking into this myself as I want to replace the hoses on mine.

Any news from the seller on ebay as the whether they will fit the 2001 model?

As I said above, they won't fit. They are for the FZ6 not the FZS600. Completely different engine.

You could use flexible hose with internal springs, well if you can find the correct OD spring
Complete fabrication, I didn't make it up!
