Got 1 minute into the vid then no more, can't stand music on bike vids, sorry. Music for music vids and bike exhaust for bike vids.

Think these get fitted to take some of the "slop" out of the gear change as it is a shorter unit. Think that it rubs a little on the frame, but not 100% sure.

I'm in the same boat now. At 6'5" I get really fidgety on my runs to Norfolk, I know I could stop more often, but I need to maximize my time there, so I tend to just crack on and only stop for fuel. That's why I'm now thinking of a varadero type thing. To be honest, thats what I set out to buy before the fazer, but was sold on the looks of the thing and a youtube vid of one going for it through the gears. I love it to bits and wish I could afford 2 bikes. If I do sell, it will be the hardest bike to let go, even though I have only had it since April.

I thought they weren't recommended  for the higher compression R1 engines. Might be wrong though, but thought I read it on Ivans' site.

Changed them 3 days ago. Took iridium ones out and went back to normal ngks'. Not sure when they were last done. Normally change plugs every 2 years. Fitted the advancer today and am getting some grip puppy things. Should be as smooth as a smooth thing now.

What am I missing, why is it a scam? Have they just not got the wrong picture in the ad?

May give those grips a try, thanks for that.

Received my advancer today, so that may shed a few more vibes. It is better after the carb balance and it does vibe less with a full/half full tank.

Yoikes, I was just waiting for the crash, bang, wollop watching that. Wouldn't want to buy his bike either if he bounces it off the rev limiter every ride.

Changed the spark plugs and then rode to Exeter to try a Honda varadero 1000 for size. Lovely comfy position, but can I bear to part with the fazer for one??????

Have you followed those wires back to anything? They look like add-ons and seperate to the main wiring system, so should be able to follow them back. Might be worth trying another ignition barrel by the sounds of it.

Sorry for being dumb, but is it best to only set the tps up Ivans way OR fit an advancer? Is it ok to do both or just one or the other?

« on: 11 September 2014, 06:20:57 am »
Have a mich PR3 on the front and a mich PR4 on the rear. Only put about 800 miles on the rear so far, but am impressed already. 640 of those miles were motorway and half of that was in the wet (very), very secure feeling tyre and more grip than I will ever need, can't wait for the front to wear so I can get a PR4 on there.

Only managed a quick ride yesterday and didn't get a chance to sit at those revs, but went upto and through them when I could and they do seem to be less after the carb balance.

Setting the TPS up Ivans way, does that alter the timing, or can I still try an advancer?

Will fit new plugs this weekend and try the branded fuel also.

Strange thing is, that it is only through the throttle grip. I suppose its' because the tube is free floating.

Will have a look to see if mine already has one and if not, may give one a try. May help with the vibe issue as well.

I don't mind a few vibes, all part of the riding experience for me, but when your right hand goes completely dead on a 6 hour ride it's no longer enjoyable. Love the bike to bits and runs sweet, but if I can't dial the vibes out abit it will have to go.

General / Re: Winter Gloves
« on: 09 September 2014, 07:40:56 pm »
I use the Keiss heated inners also, lovely and warm all over, but you will need to buy larger gloves to go over them comfortably. I have long hands and had to go to a 5xl glove to be comfortable. Muffs are the way to go for serious winter use though. Would like proper heated gloves, but can't afford them. :'(
