Title: Bloody hex head bolts made of cheese!
Post by: Aegis Bearing Mel on 21 April 2012, 12:48:41 pm
Replacing my fork seals is taking WAAAAAY longer than it should thanks to Yam's insistence on making the mudguard bolts out of cheese.
What should be a two and a half hour job has so far taken me the thick end of two hours just to drop the foccin' forks out.
Ended up losing my patience and twatting the mudguard with a BFH, so it's now in slightly more pieces that it was when it left the factory.
 :rolleyes :lol

So, moral of the story is allow more time to do things than planned, and don't twat plastic stuff with a hammer.
 :o :rollin

Fleabay, here I come...

I was separating some plastic bike panels at the weekend. Same story, chocolates bolts and screws. However I very carefully removed the bolt and screw heads with an angle grinder....

...WITHOUT SMASHING UP THE PLASTIC BITS!

I'm not allowed angle grinders, there are laws and a restraining order stopping it.

Bit of a bugger that. Look on the bright side pal, leave it off for the proper naked look and it's another bit you won't need to wash  :D

 hi

you lot kill me every time i get on here :lol

WD40 are doing a smart straw can of like chain wax stuff no residue and excellent in getting bolts undone before spanner work .

my ford ranger was shit up to the eyeballs,  well still is  :o  but after a bending moment for chrome bar on back it came undone with 4" ratchet on the furry bolts , one squirt on each and hey presto bolts undone.

this stuff is safe on all plastic ! i got mine from Tippers building merchants in lichfield staffs.

i highly recommend it ! ;)

had prob with leaky 19kg gas bottle in back of truck with 2 gals of petrol , that foccin bent bar got caught in transit with the valve and released half the gas at 32 quid in the back load box . good job id put me fag out and have a good sense of smell else lichfield city centre could have been toast !

wont be carrying that again foc have it delivered :eek

cheers all
