I have an'08 FZ1 that has recently developed a peculiar fault. Every time I turn on the ignition the clock shows an incorrect time no matter how many times I reset it. Any opinions out there?

The Manchester United player Darren Fletcher has had this condition for around two years now and has just got back playing. He played 67 mins for the reserves last week and has every intention of regaining his first team place. You must want to get out and not give in. Taksi

Thanks for the prompt response. They do have a full 360 zipper. As I live in Cheshire I'll probably have a trip to Oulton Park on a track day and ask there. Thanks again. Taksi

Hi guys I'd like a bit of info please. I've been given a track day next year as a 65th birthday prezzy and my leathers are a Spada Magma 2-piece leather suit. Is this suitable or if not is it possible to hire a suit at the circuit. I don't want to shell out for another suit. I'll be on my '08 fz1 fazer. Ta very much Taksi

I have an '08 faired FZ1 with K&N and full Akro and don't have any hot start probs at all. You should not have to touch the throttle on start up. I would ask the garage to check all the error codes. Shouldn't be a coil as they usually give probs with misfires at 2-3000 rpm and don't usually fail until 15-20k or so. Defo back to the dealers if it was me. Good luck. Taksi

I have breakdown cover including homestart with MCE fully comp. They even include limited European cover (30 days) as well. Covered on other bikes as well. All this for £146, though I am an old scroat! Still like to make progress on my gen2 fz1 fazer though! Taksi

Not a TomTom but I have a Garmin Zumo 220 and had the same problem. On mine there is a voltage dropper on the cable to the battery deigned to drop the voltage from 12.5 to 5v for the sat nav. When measured at the end of the cable where it goes into the sat nav there was no voltage. Spoke to Garmin and they sent me another cable by return of post, even though the unit is 2 yrs old. Don't know if it's relevant to your Tom Tom but worth checking?

I have a gen2 FZ1Fazer '08 and have a problem with the hazard lights. Indicators work fine ,but when I put on the hazards the indicators blink once then nothing. Also after this happens the indicators stop working for 20-30 seconds and then behave again. Any ideas? Ta.

I have this set up on my FZ1 fazer and it will fit though it's a bit of a fiddle depending on which tail tidy you have. On mine I had to split the tail tidy and turn the number plate bit upside down and refit it or it will foul the rear indicators. The quick release pannier racks are a great idea.

Just coming up to 9k on my PR3's and I commute daily and like a blast at weekend. Need changing pretty soon though and will probably go for Z8's to see what they're like. Heard good things about them. Taksi

Standard rear preload should be no3 (rider only) and with pillion I set mine to 5 and go up 2 clicks on rebound. I'm about 13 stone, my missus a bit (don't go there!) less. Setting it softer makes it rock back and forth like a boat when braking/accelerating. Experiment yourself is the best, depends on the weight being carried. Also Google 'yamaha fz1 manual pdf ' and there's loads of info there. Taksi

Nope - not the springs, just checked the manual and they are the correct way up. Don't know if I've still got the others, I'll have to have a rummage in the garage. Think I'll also measure them for comparison. Never had this problem before so I still suspect the EBC pads. Taksi

I think you'll find that the unusually hot weather has allowed the oil to thin down on the inner parts of the engine and drain a bit quicker. Don't worry about it, the weather won't last! Taksi
