I have what I think is a Lava Red Gen 1 and would like to buy a tank cover for it.
Can anybody suggest a colour that would suit it, I doubt Bagster make a Lava Red cover?

I have bought OEM parts from Boat.net in the past but looking at their web site they are only showing boat parts. Maybe I am looking in the wrong place?

I have been offered a 1960 ish Moto Guzzi Lodola Gran Turismo motor bike. Its 235cc with a 4 speed box. That's all I know. Its in pretty good condition and I was wondering if anybody on here would have any specifications on the bike. I don't even know if its 2 stroke or 4 stroke!!!
It was refurbished a few years ago and has been sat on display in an Italian restaurant since then.

I am hoping to tackle the clutch basket mod this week. This mod allows more oil to get to the clutch plates and hopefully stops them sticking. If it works I'll let you know

I have been reading the topic on smooth clutch changes and am considering drilling the holes to get more oil to the middle of my stack. I have a new set of friction plates. Would it make sense to change steel plates and springs while I am at it? The bike has done 98,000 miles. It does not slip but it does seem to drag a bit when hot.

Hi Guys, I have an issue with my 2004 Gen 1. The mulitgauge shows the bike is not charging. The bike broke down in the week and I guessed it was the regulator. I've checked the old one and it appears to check out OK. I had previously changed the connector from the regulator and it now has the upgraded push fit power pole connectors.
My next guess would be a defective generator. I have an old engine in the garage and it has a generator on it so I have spares. What part is likely to be at fault in the generator and how easy is it all to strip and rebuild?

Hi guys,
I have checked my valve clearances and find I need the following shims:
175 x 2
178 x 1
180 x 3
182 x 1
I do not know what size shims are available . The sizes above are for exhaust and put me mid range.
I am happy to swop, I have shim sizes 199 down to 184. When I have the shims I need I am happy to give away my spares.

I changed my oil and filter last night and gave the bike a good clean around the front sprocket area (without taking cover off) and around the side stand area. This morning the speedo would not work. After about 10 minutes it was back to normal.
Could I have pulled a wire or something during my cleaning? If so, where?

I have obtained an oil cooler from an R1 to replace the damaged unit on my 2004 Thou. The R1 unit is a little shorter than my unit by around 15mm. Can anybody see any issues if I fit it? Thanks

I have removed the sump from an engine I have and noted a tube which connects to something on the engine. The tube appears to be a breather or something.  My query is, should there be a 'O' ring on the tube before it fits back into the engine or does it get refitted as it is shown? Thanks

You would have seen my advert in For Sale/Wanted. I need an oil cooler for a Gen 1 engine I am refurbishing. I cannot find any on eBay. Does the correct oil cooler fit any other engines that anybody is aware of? The R1 seems to have the outlets in a different position. Its one of the outlets on mine that has broken off too far down to be reused.
Anybody help please?

I am having a real problem changing gear on my 04 Gen 1.
Changing up is OK but it get progressively worse when I change down the lower I go. Getting into 1st from 2nd is really hard. Sometimes it moves from 2nd to 1st and 1st to 2nd when I am wanting neutral. It also seems to get worse when the bike is warmed up.
The bike has done 90k miles, it is well looked after, just had an oil change, carb tune and chain adjustment. The bike is still on its original clutch.
Any suggestions?
