The top strap has just broken on my blue tank cover and it is not repairable.
Does anybody have one the are not using. It needs to be in good condition please.
I've put this in the wanted section as well.

Why not buy a length of correct width nylon strap off ebay, unpick stitching on tank cover & sew in a new length of strap, it's a pretty easy thing to do, I've made straps for loads of applications, made a load of built in securing straps for my panniers when I had a 1300 Pan yrs ago, way better than owt available from Honda & it's cheap too.

Hi Gaz, I did buy some new nylon strap but the problem I have is the plastic clip that is used to secure the other end of the strap is moulded to the nylon that is stitched to the cover. I really need to find where I can buy a new clip that I could fit to my new strap then get the new strap stitched to the cover. I don’t know where to look for a new clip.

There is a French tank bag manufacturer called Top Sellerie, which is very similar to Baglux. I have their tank harness and bag for my Fazer. Maybe they could supply the necessary spare parts. Failing that, a company called Alfatex(ebay) that make lengths of sturdy velcro that has a buckle loop on one end, in both plastic or metal. I use these for compressing tents to make them easier to get in the accompanying bags. You might be able to make them work. I did replace the side clups on a baglux a few years ago but can't find the details of where I got them from. Last resort maybe buy the cheapest baglux harness on ebay/gumtree etc and cut off the necessary strap.

Hi Robbo, thank you for this information. I can’t see anything on the website but will take some measurements, provide some sizes and write to them both and ask the question. I am also going to write to Bagalux to see if they are willing to sell me one 👍

I’ve ordered a new clip with a length of strap moulded to it for just under £10 from Bagster.

Update - Received the new clip and strap. The lady who sewed it to the cover has sewed it at right angles to the end rather than slightly to one side so the strap is not laying flat to the steering stock. Much safer than it was and I'm not going to take it off and do it again!!

Post some pics, don't quite understand what you mean on the clip issue.

Where the the strap goes around the back of the steering stock it should then be a straight connection to the clip my lady sewed on. She sewed it on at right angles to the edge of the cover but it should have been sewn on at about 80 degrees so when it is connected to the strap around the steering stick it is not straight, it’s slightly linked. Also the new clip is not really close enough to the cover so the clip is almost hidden at the rear of the steering stock. Not a problem but it make pulling it tight more difficult. Really silly issues and my fault.
