General / Ripoff Britain~ plumbs new depths
« on: 02 November 2013, 05:34:30 pm »
.....Or the strange case of the disappearing biscuits.

From top to bottom Xmas 200xx, 2011,2012,2013 biscuit boxes, contents shrinking year by year.Note the contents weight carefully.

If you're gona rip me off, at least do it fairly. ;)

On a more serious note, there's no longer enough jammy dodger types included to go around!!  :(

Anyone care to comment?

FZS600 Fazer / Brake Pads & disc wear.
« on: 21 August 2013, 09:24:34 pm »
Plenty of brake pads posts on forum however...

Long term/high mileage owners please, any recommendations/avoidances for Pads based on low disc wear?

About to replace pads.
24k on bike, front pads still originals, happy with way they work & no real signs of disc wear.Shame OEM a bit pricey.
Rear pads also worn originals but only cos i swapped the caliper out.~ had new ebc organics on when bought bike,& who knows what before that or what the P.O. did with rear brake~ rear discs got a lip to rival Mick Jagger, so up for replacement in due course, may hold off on rear pads till then.
What'ya all think?
I'm not hard on brakes,(slow rider ;) ) would rather be replacing pads a bit more often than forking out for new discs.

FZS600 Fazer / Advice on painting & decals.
« on: 27 April 2013, 08:27:03 am »

Hi,
Need some advice on painting & decals as i'm far happier with a spanner in hand.

After much searching i got a genuine belly pan(fitted) & genuine sports front mudguard (to fit).In good shape.
Unfortunately wrong colour.
Do i fit as is (see attatched pic)~ belly pan looks ok,silver fender may be a bit too much?
Or repaint myself~ potential for a disaster maybe?
Or pay someone £££ to do it.~ whats a fair price for a proper job you reckon?

If i do it myself do i need to wet & dry prior to painting?~ fender is brand new, seems a shame to wreck factory finish.

What's the best way of non destructively removing old wax/polish prior to painting or applying decals?

Soz for 20 questions, hopefully  i'll get 20 answers :D

FZS600 Fazer / Quite possibly a daft exhaust question?
« on: 19 June 2012, 06:51:15 pm »

Ok,
i've decided a louder can is in order, but i'm far too tight to replace the standard one given it's in good shape & i've a long list of other "to do's"

I'm guessing there's some wadding put in there by Mr Yamaha & co.
My question being~ is it possible to remove some of it for a more sporting exhaust note & if so how?

One of the funniest ebay listings i've ever seen.
Well worth a look,for laughs.

Imagine it~ a police bike fzs600, envolved in a high speed 10mph chase! :D
Reckon it must have been a 'B' movie or they'd have used a fazer thou ;)
