Broken MRA Screen for Fazer
« on: 19 April 2015, 01:23:17 pm »
And if you are wondering why would anyone want to buy a broken one, I don't know either..

I am posting this because a year or two ago when I mentioned my little incident that broke the screen, someone here (can't find the message / pm) wanted the broken MRA screen for something (possibly the hinges).

If that person / anyone else wants it, just PM. How much... hmm ONE MILLION DOLLAAAHSSS... Or postage.

I don't know if this can be repaired - well beyond my abilities anyway. It would work as a screen even without mending it, but it would kinda rattle / flop about a bit without the screw at the bottom.

be easy enough for someone to remove the hinges and spolier section and mate it to a standard screen I reckon...

Okay you guys are very clever and resourceful indeed!

I had thought of taking the lip and fitting it to my el cheapo double bubble, but the lip is about 2 inches wider than the screen and of course screen a lot more "bubbly" (curved) than the lip. I didn't think the MRA screen was particularly good anyway, and if the lip doesn't match the screen, I really doubt if that's going to work too well. I am fairly happy with the el cheapo screen + decent helmet (Schuberth) combination.

Also, Noggy helped me out with a radiator hose when I really needed it - so I am just passing it on.

Anyway, Sinto got to me first, and Paulfzs second. Since both of yous only wanted the lip part alone, I have left the hinges to soak on WD40, just to be on the safe side. I will update how it goes.
