Recovered my Fazer, what a result!
« on: 24 July 2013, 12:48:30 pm »
So happy to report I have my fazer back after its disappearance last week! It reappeared yesterday morning, parked up neatly blocking the pavement on my own road. Ignition wiring cut, half way up/down the steep hill I live on, still with a full tank of petrol.

I am mysified. The full tank suggests they did not go far, but they must have ridden it away, or I would have found it dumped at the bottom of the hill days ago (maybe after a failed bump start?); they presumably also had it running in order to dump it half way up a steep hill yesterday. If they had it running why only do a litre or so's worth of riding in the 3 days it was missing, and then bring it back to the very road they nicked it from?

I feel very lucky to have it back, no major damage, just the cut wiring, jimmyed seat which does not fit quite right now and missing plastic side panel on left side. Could have been a lot worse. Anyone got a spare one of those plastic covers?

Cheers.

Bilmey thats a result !  :lol

I would say more often than not when a bike is stolen if they cant start it they burn it ! to remove finger prints ect !

Excellent news but as u say a bit puzzling as to why it was returned in that manner. Makes me think the theif's dad found out and gave the cunt a clip round the ear and told him to put it back.  What else could it be ?

Just flapping about on this stagnant little pond on the outer rim of the internet.....yup....  :-))

Yup that's my best guess too.

I always feel sad when I read someone's bike got nicked, but this made me happy!

Brilliant news - delighted for you  :lol
It's not often you hear of bikes been recovered like this and especially with minimal damage incurred - top result.

Yep I guess the parent theory is best. If a responsible adult had the thief drop it back it could explain why the bike had no prints on it! That or the filthy state I keep her in ;-)

Brilliant result.  Awesome.  Fantastic.  Better than losing your excess and/or having the uncertainty of buying another bike secondhand.
Opinions are like A**holes, Everyone has one.  Some people seem to have more than one though which is a bit odd.

Great news on your bike being returned. They could have at least cleaned it for you for the inconvenience!
