Hi, has anyone got any good condition spark plug caps for a Gen1 1000 for sale? Servicing my bike showed up some distinctly dodgy caps! 😳 Andy.

Any of you use a multi-guage? Mine has less wires than the OEM dashboard has....notably there is nothing to connect the wire from the fan to that used to connect to the dash PCB. My fan will not work now. I've checked he fan & relay & they're fine. Connecting that wire straight to live clicks the relay but doesn't start the fan.
Any experience to share?

Finally it's done!...the Koso I was struggling with in my other thread: http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,24399.0.htmlis now installed on a home made dash plate with the Garmin next to it....no doubt an acquired taste but I like the slightly post-apocalyptic home made digital dash look of it! Also, I am no longer squinting at a needle dial trying to spot what speed I'm doing!....must be my age!

Well I certainly don't make life easy for myself! Have bought a Koso DB-03R multi-gauge......now it's out of the box I'm looking at the wiring instructions & thinking I've bitten off a very large chunk of headache pie! Aaaargh!

My own fault for being in a rush but the bike fell in my garage & I've broken the fairing above the rear of the headlight.. Any tips on fixing it?... I'm thinking I can put some fibreglass on the inside for strength & then sand out the split line in order to skim fill it? Fekking nuisance as I'm busy (& getting very skint) fitting new DID ZVM-X chain, Obigene sprockets & wavy rotors, Koso digital multi-guage, had new Metzler Roadtec 01 rear tyre, been tightenening headache bearings & generally tweaking things..........Grrrrrrr!

I'm in the market for a new chain, & I'll replace both sprockets as well.....D.I.D chains seem to be the way to go BUT they do a std & a supadupa version.....the supadupa version is dearer so has anyone got any real world experience of these chains? Having an Ivanised bike which I do tend to rag a tad I am leaning to the supadupa chain..... Sprockets - JT are known for being good quality but there is a co. making bushed "silent" sprockets (as per OEM apparently)...again, anyone got any experience of such matters? Thanks in advance folks, Andy W.

Hi, Can anyone let me have the codes for LED version of side light bulbs please? Seem to have bought ones that are too small for the holders.

Oh dear, why do I never learn?!!! When I fitted my white dial faces did I read the instructions on the mods. & jobs web link?............ No!Of course I didn't....I'm a bloke, therefore I do not read instructions, I simply steam in like a moron & realise the error of my ways 1/2 way thru the job! I now have an inaccurate fuel gauge & a speedo which is also somewhat awry! BUT....at least I can read them a treat! Now I think I will have to take it all apart again, remove the clear lenses & refit to the bike. That way I can test & reset the needles on the shafts as I go! Will I ever learn?.......Probably not!

I'd like to check the looks of our Gen.1's with hand guards if anyone can help with pictures please.
Also, I know the DL650 ones fit, would that be the 2004-20011 version?
Has anyone used other guards, eBay, etc....?
Thanks.

I've found my bike too quiet since buying it, despite the can being called Viper. I don't really like large cans either so I finally got round to shortening it today. I took about 3" off as a starting point, & also repacked the wadding less tightly. Sounds not too much different, but more rip when opening the throttle...test ride later today & tomorrow - though I suspect I'll be taking off another 2" pretty soon!

Ok folks, so what do you think...is it time I unwrapped my replacement clutch cable, or can I get another few yards out of this one? Actually, I think I was lucky to get home today!

Probably a well worn topic but I want a Double Bubble screen. Anyone know the best for quality & wind deflection, my being 6'2"? I've looked up Powerbronze, Fabbri, MRA, Puig & Zero Gravity but can't seem to find out comparative heights.

A couple of days off work saw me determined to finish my "hit list" of mods on my gen.1..............AIS block-off is now done, using caps from stevegixer.Carb water hose removed & blocked off, radiator flushed & coolant renewed.Hyperpro progressive fork springs, fresh fork oil, new gliders, sliders & seals - turned into an unwanted extra expense as the bike's compression damping adjusters were seized so I had to buy some good condition used fork leg lowers to use. Coming as I do from the world of air cooled twins...man there is a lot of plumbing on these Fazers! A big thank you goes to my good pal PJ (PieEater to you lot!) for helping me do the forks! Top man! The bike breaker I bought the lowers from was kindly recommended by b1k3rdude - Pitstop m/c (A1 Bike Breakers), 01773 512366. They are very helpful folk! Phew! Just need to find some time to actually ride the darn thing now!
