Hi All,
Last week someone put a call into the police to say something had fallen off our car and damaged their car. Before they called the police they tried to make my wife pull over by driving very dangerously, flashing lights, driving up her boot and generally scaring her and the kids in our car. So being concerned and not knowing what was going on she went to the police to report it and that's when she learnt that they felt something had come off our car and hit theirs.
A police lady gave our car a quick once over and could find nothing obvious
We can find nothing obvious
Where do we stand on this? Apparently the chap is still keen to take this via the insurance. We as yet don't know what he thinks fell off or what damage was done. The police called today to discuss, but my wife hasn't had chance to chat to them as yet.
Any ideas? Surely he has to prove the the item (whatever it was) was off our car??
Cheers guys

Hi Guys,
My rear wiper has packed up on the car. I have a multimeter (it came with a tool kit) but I've never used it.
How do I test to see if it's the motor for the wiper that's broken?
I've checked the fuse and it's good.
Cheers in advance

Hi All,
My rear brake light spring is more of a rear brake straight piece of metal. Does anyone know (short of going to a stealer) where I could get one from? I can buy a brake leaver and spring off ebay but that's an expensive spring ha ha

Hi guys, I've just realised I'm missing the bolt that holds the gear linkage (is that the right name) in place. Do anyone know what size it is? Can I buy one on it's own or do I need to buy the whole bit?
Cheers

My heated grips have started moving round on the handlebars so I thought I would take the bar ends off, slip them off, bit of glue, back on all ok. Can I shift the allen bolt at the end of the bar ends? Can I foc. Is there some weird magic going on here? reverse thread or not even a screw? They should just unscrew, yeah? Those who know my posts are already looking forward to the "I've fucked up my bars trying to get my bar ends off" thread admit it!

Hi All,
I've been given a very unexpected pass for this Sunday. The mother in law is down, the wife was saying about taking her and the kids to Leed's Castle and then she said "I know you're not a fan of going there, why not see if anyone fancies a ride" so........
Earlier in the year Dazza mentioned about doing a route in Kent round the Spitfire museums/memorial.
Does anyone fancy it?

Hi All,
I keep hearing from you focers how replacing the fork oil with heavier oil makes a difference to the handling and so, when I bumped into my local mechanic in Asda earlier I asked him how long it would take. He reckons an hour or so, but bonus, says he does private jobs and would be cheaper than at the garage...... BONUS!
His question that he wanted me to ask you guys was, if we are replacing with 15W (I think that's what you guys say to replace it with) what air gap do you leave in the fork?
Oh and one more question I think I know the answer, but is it ok to do this mod before changing the rear shock? That's my next treat at some point.
Cheers

Our local IAM group were offering free observed rides, so I thought I would sign up. The day is today. Shame the weather isn't better. He's got a 40 mile circular route for us and reckons we'll be out 3 or 4 hours.
I'll report back how it goes.

My wife's biking friend, the one I tried to set up with you Focers last year is after an alarm for her Honda Varadaro 125.
Does anyone have any recomendations (other than don't fit one)?
Cheers in advance

Hi Guys, toying with going to the Moto GP at Silverstone this year. With the kids in tow we can only afford genereal admission (they want to come too). I remember when I used to watch the F1 there in the mid 90s we would have general admission that meant to get a decent spot to place our chairs we had to be going into the circuit at 6.00am Has anyone been to Moto GP, is it the same today as it was 20 years ago for the F1 or is Moto GP different? Has anyone had any experience of general tickets for Moto GP? Ta

Who's up for a ride out on Sunday 17th April?
You know me, I don't lead, I follow and the last route I picked was a pain in the arse, so over to you guys to decide where. I'm just putting the date out there!

I'm going to give the kitchen a new lick of emulsion and spruce it up. It's not a big kitchen so the walls have got dirty from cooking.
Question, is sugar soap good enough to clean kitchen walls prior to painting or is there some other hot tip out there?

I've got a very slow leak from both the bleed nipples on my front calipers.
When fitting them should I have sealed them with anything or is it simply (hopefully) that they need replacing?
Cheers

Has anyone got 3 Brake caliper bleed valve dust caps they don't want that I could have?

OK, so the story of the "cheap" chinese leavers continues today.. I'm replacing my calipers (having snapped the bleed valve last time out, and deciding to replace the RHS too because of the knocking that some of you (Punk, Red etc) heard on our last ride out) so, here goes, be prepared for tales of woe and foccing it up.....
Will report back later

Hi All, I'll be doing the Whitstable Egg run (as usual). It's the 13th March leaving from Whitstable Fire Station. No time yet but normally about 1.00pm.
Anyone fancy it?

Is anyone going to the MCN show this weekend?
I'm thinking about it, not 100% yet.

Hi All,
I remember a while back there was a discussion on here about carb/fuel cleaner. Someone mentioned about a really good one you can get from Halfords for about £15, there are several on their site for that, does anyone remember which one was recommended?
I'm looking at a one shot thing that gives the fuel system a good cleaning with the hope of increasing performance.

Hi All,
As the title says I'm after a left hand brake caliper for an 01 plate FZS600. Must be in good working order.

I was thinking of taking the day off work and heading to Silverstone on the Fazer to watch the BSB testing day on 29th March. Apparently it's free to get in.
Anyone fancy it?

Traveling to and from work today (in the cage) I was overtaken by a BLUE Fazer, oh the shame It wasn't all bad though.... I was sat still in traffic at the time! Poor sod, probably communtes down that road everyday just to overtake something....

One day, I'll post something in this section that goes along the lines of "whooo hooo, I've just fixed something on my bike without focing it up" but that will never happen so I'll just post my normal foc up woes.
Having changed my brake leavers for cheap chinese ones and as a result having to change my master cylinder because the one that was on there wasn't a Fazer one I finally got round to bleeding my brakes today.
The nipples looked nicely rusted up so I applied some penetrating spray, making sure I didn't get any on the brakes themselves!
One nipple turned eventually the other snapped!!! Story of my life with this bike. A simple job turns into a nightmare.
OK foccer font of knowledge, what the foc do I do now??? New caliper?

Oh focer font of knowledge - another "before I foc it right up" question:
I want to replace the tap on our bathroom sink. The sink is probably 20 years old at least and was in the house when we moved in. Ideally we should replace the bathroom but cash does not permit this yet.
On the current sink the automatic plug thing that you control from the taps is long focced so I'm looking to replace it with the new taps. The one I've got from Wickes comes with a new plug section.
My question is about removing the current waste from the sink. I'm guessing it's simply been silicone sealed (or similar) into place in the sink and once the ubend has been disconnected I can "push" it out from below using a "little" force and patience. Would this be right or is there normally something firmer holding these things in place never to be replaced, ever?!
Cheers
