I did the whole weekend with my lot. I mainly went to see Iron Maiden but also enjoyed Slipknot(a bit heavy for me), and Ramstein put a great show on. Also saw quite a few new bands I haven't heard of which were good. The spitfire flypast got a great cheer didn't it but one of my favourite bits was the people on the rope slide getting pelted with plastic bottles when they went past on the Sunday  :lol

I use an old cortina wheel nut to help undo the spindle which is 19mm hex (or 3/4") like many other car wheel nuts. I have just put a pair of Pirelli Angel ST's on mine, £163 a pair from a link on here to a fellow on ebay  :)

My furthest is 711 miles from Drumnadrochit to Southampton on my GSXR 750 srad. It was my first trip away and I was missing my good lady so thought 'sod it, I'm going home today'. I went via my mates house in Edinburgh and took a wrong turning at Birmingham too so it took 14 hours in near constant rain. My knees were absolutely killing me when I got home and I don't think I would attempt that again  :\

We rode from Grindelwald to Chamonix and it was a ride worth doing. After the disappointment of the cable car breaking down and not going up Mont Blanc we decided to go through the tunnel to do the St Bernard pass. After the shock of the 27 euro toll we found the St Bernard was closed and it was a huge detour to get to Barcelonnette, so it's worth checking what passes are blocked before heading off. We went back through the tunnel to Chamonix (we were able to get a return ticket price), and started fresh the next day.

Switzerland for me was the highlight of the trip. Around every corner you think "bloody hell, look at that view!" You are gonna love it, just hope the weather is good for you.
I have pictures of my mates bike but didn't want to ruin the photo. He has a Transalp....  :rolleyes

Were you solo or did you go with a group of friends?

Just me and a mate. Ride most of the day and find a hotel wherever we ended up.

I tried to pack light but only just fitted all MY gear on the bike! I am glad I didn't take the boss (in a good way) as there were a couple of motorway slogs and a couple of wet days which she wouldn't have liked. Tested my enthusiasm a bit with seven hours of rain riding one day  :rolleyes

Just got back from a 2 week, 3000 mile tour of Europe taking in Holland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France and Spain. The Fazer never missed a beat, and with heated grips, was the perfect companion  :D

It might be worth checking it's not jacked up alot at the rear or the forks pulled up through the yokes. With ZX7R's 10mm more rear ride height and pulling the forks through the yokes by 5mm make them steer alot faster

I put my feet on the crash bungs when on a long motorway journey. It does help stretch the legs for a while  :)

Saw Maiden in 2011 at the O2 Arena and they are still as good as ever. Looking forward to seeing them at the Download Festival this year. I wish they would go back to calling it 'Monsters of Rock' again though......

Didn't check this yesterday! I went up last night and it was a good evening. Went to Alton first and there was only about 10 bikes there although it was a bit early. Went to Loomies and it was heaving. Was yours the tidy Gen 1 in silver?

As I say aren't cheap but they do come down quite a bit with best offer, the bits took 5 days, ordered Thu arrived Tue, from Germany. :eek
Looked at Zero Limit stuff but was put off by the delay in getting the bits and a couple of reports that complained of different thickness of carbon

I saw them on ebay Germany. What offers did they accept?

I bought my Oxford grips from ebay for £50. I used them today and they are superb. Easy to wire in, they go straight to the battery, with a low voltage indicator so they turn off before totally draining your battery if you leave them on. Highly recommended  :)

I have been pulled over a few times by the Police including speeding(numerous), driving with no tax, m.o.t or insurance and riding suspiciously(!). I have only been done once for speeding for doing 43mph in a 30. Each time, I know I have been stopped for a reason. I always get out of the car/off bike, say hello and take a bollocking for being a knob. I act humble, don't gob off at them, and it works. Each time they could have thrown the book at me and I believe my attitude towards them has prevented that happening. You know yourself, if someone is in your face and argumentative, it's easy to take an instant dislike to them. Why should the Police be any different?

Fitted Renthal sprockets after going to Halfords to buy a 36mm socket. Interestingly, the Renthal rear was a third of the weight of the steel one which was on there. Then fitted 'go faster' rim tape......  :)

« on: 14 March 2013, 08:51:26 pm »
I chain my bike to a ground anchor in a mc bay. The problem is, usually at least a couple of times a week somebody is letting their dog piss all over the chain and lock... which means it's a really unpleasant business unlocking my bike. It really really annoys me and unfortunately I've never caught them in the act. Happens on a regular basis. >: The only consolation is that there haven't been any solids as yet so it could be worse!

Don't really want to move my bike, can't move the chain or lock because of the ground anchor..... any suggestions about what to do? Any tricks? I was thinking that there could be an "anti-dog" product that I could put on the lock but I don't know if that sort of thing exists...
Why don't you just set the Fazer to 'Stun'?!    (one for the Star Trek fans out there  :D )
