speedo and rev counter
« on: 14 January 2015, 06:36:09 pm »
this morning on the way to work I noticed my dials were not displaying(2010 fz1s) intermittently the whole dash would come to life with the rev counter and display showing as they would on start up but then going off again. The only thing different I have done to the bike lately was wash it last Thursday. does anyone have any idea of what the problem might be or how to get the displays working again?  Thank You.
Ride for today coz you never know what tomorrow holds.

Sounds like you have a dodgy connection to your instrument panel that has let some water in.

Find it, open it up, clean it (use some water dispersing spray) and remake, hopefully all will be well.

Could also be the battery on the way out if its not been changed in 4 years.

Sounds like the instrument panel connector then, have you changed the screen recently sometimes the wiring can get moved then.

Find the connector, open it, clean it, reconnect and fingers crossed. 10 minutes work  :)  (you may have to remove the screen to get good access to it).
