FZS600 Fazer / Re: Front Sprocket Upgraded nut torque????
« on: 01 August 2012, 11:51:09 am »

"The sprocket's going forwards, theoretically tightening the nut during movement because of the thread direction, don't panic too much, the new one ain't going anywhere in a hurry!!! "

This may be a daft question - but is the front sprocket nut a left hand tread ie tightens anti clockwise?

if it is it will explain why I cant get my one off!!

Your Suggestions and How you can help / Re: how about............

All you will get is people posting four posts along the line of " I agree" or "cool" just before posting the add!

Its a shitty thing to join a forum just to sell something - but you just have to accept that some people are just  a bit of a shit!

P.S they may just one day be selling some thing we need - so it's not all bad.

FZS600 Fazer / brake line replacement

I am looking to upgrade my brake lines to stainless braided ones

What sytem have you guys gone for? - have you stuck with the single line to a splitter  into to two lines front brake type or converted to a two lines from the master cylinder to caliper front system?

What are the merits of each system? ( other than one being cheaper)

I think I will end up getting it resprayed in 2 pack metallic black at a body shop - I have done the rattle can respray before but they don,t work well with the ethanol in petrol and I don,t have the gear to respray with 2k.

FZS600 Fazer / leaky tank
« on: 30 June 2012, 06:22:35 pm »
I have only owned my Fazer a couple of months and it has rained for most of that time , so when I got up to a bright sunny day the plan was a bit of bike maintenance and then out for a good long ride in the hills - but alas not to be !

I have had a slight fuel leak which I assumed was something to do with overfilling the tank last time I fuelled up ( thought it was an overflow pipe thing.I lifted the tank to check to air filter and dry off the over flow only to find the bottom of the tank has been very badly repaired. After a bit of light sanding the bottom of the tank looked like a lump of Swiss cheese.
The tank was full of rust and quite frankly past repair - after a trawl on the net I have purchased a replacement tank - unfortunately a YELLOW one!

I am still on the look out for a black tank if anyone has on.

FZS600 Fazer / Re: Nut size?
« on: 17 June 2012, 06:28:37 pm »
I got a new 12mm nut last week - but try as I might I could not budge the fitted smaller one , even with an impact driver and a breaker bar!

Will have to get the bike garage to do it when I can afford it .

Hi all - Im Ponkster from the N E Scotland , I've just acquired a  1998 FZS 600 Fazer so I decide to join the forum.

I'm liking the fazer and have been quite surprised by the speed and handling - quite a wolf in sheep's clothing
