Fuel Tank capacity
« on: 14 March 2022, 05:32:40 pm »
According to the manual, the fuel tank on the FZ6 can hold 19.4 litres.

But does anyone know if that's the absolute maximum (ie brim full to the cap) or whether it allows for an air gap at the top?

unfazed

Air gap is not included in the tank capacity, could probably squeeze another litre into the air gap

Right, thanks for clarifying.

I suspected something like that when I'd gone 25 miles into reserve, but only got about 17 litres in, filling so the petrol coverered the bottom of the "strainer" under the fuel cap.

That still gets me 200 miles before the reserve on my FZ6 (in summer, 175 in winter), so I can live with it.
