Did you not come across the thread where a few guys have used the other side to drill into thus creating a sound place for your bolts?Anutz done it I'm sure and a few others.I'll try a look for it later but I think it's in amongst another thread

I'm convinced enough to have paid for it especially as I ride all weathers every day if I was a fair weather rider I probably wouldn't bother as your bikes don't get so filthy and corroded by the salt therefore easy to clean yourself
