jerky ride fuel system ,road surface or snatchy gearing
« on: 20 May 2024, 08:33:29 pm »
ok, managed to get out on the thou today.  2002 FZS

main road and country lane short trip, Im not sure of the problem, or not..
went ok on the main road, got over the limit on a straight (the roads around here are pathetic),
turning on to the country lanes to my unit the ride seemed jerky.
fuel system problem?  could just me being bounced and jerking the throttle.
gearing? cant go too fast as you get bounced off the seat.
or suspension?

so, its not been ridden for a few years, the carbs have been stripped and cleaned, the filter replaced, new fuel, pump cleaned and working.
only been run up on the ramp a few times. Im not sure if as the road is very lumpy, I was getting bumped around and moving throttle or the wheel getting jerked about.
what sort of speeds to gear am I looking at, 40mph speed limit3rd or 4th gear.
or maybe soft suspension?
thoughts?
