m&p had them on ebay for £39.99 last week not anymore though. keep an eye on ebay

Good shout :)

It feels a little heavier

But going out for a long ride today so will see what it's like after that

28
I had the lower parts of the forks milled out so I can use the blue do calipers
This also allowed me to use the standard fazer brake system

Apparently the blue dots are better than the 6 pots from the yzf

Ok. A quick wrote up how the how to

Fitting a yzf750 from end is a relatively simple swap
The from end I got didn't have a stem in it so I'm not sure if it is direct bolt on job
But I bought a lower fzs600 yoke and stem off eBay
I had it pressed out and pressed into the yzf bottom yokes
Both arms are the same size so unlike R1 conversions no additional fabrication is required
It's also a great time to change your head bearings
If you have never changed head bearings it's a "fun" thing to do

The yzf dose not have risers so the yokes needs to be drilled
But as the ignition is off set you need to make sure that the holes are far enough away from the ignition housing that you can get the nut on

There is also a little tab that fouls on the left lock
So it needs to be ground off (prob best to do this then the front end is off

That's pritty much it

Good luck with your USD conversion.

What a mission of a day
But got it done. Looks a lot better
Also bumped into another fazer
Side by side I can't believe how chunky the bike looks

I noticed my carb rubbers are cracking
I laughed a my mate who said there be about £80 for a set

I started to have a look around the net
I have to say I also laughed at some of the prices
Anything from £80 up to £130

Are people having a laugh with these prices

Anyone know of retailer to sell these at a realistic price

35
I've not ridden another fazer so I can't compare

Bit I have to say riding mine is fun  :b

36
A bit off topic but I see you have the k&n individual air filters fitted, was thinking of doing it myself but did you have to dynojet her after and put her on the rolling road to get her running smoothly?

It was put on a dyno but that was done before I got her

The filters and stuby (cut down can) have a great howl to them

37
Fu¥k sake

Looks like I got more work to do tomorrow

I call it a school boy error

Bit of a update

Im between job hunting I've made a start on the forks

I bought a fzs600 stem off eBay had it pushed into the YZF750 bottom yoke
I had the fork seal's done on the forks
Also the calpier carriers milled out to accept the blue dot calipers

Still to do is get top yoke drilled for the risers
Make the headlamp and digital speedo bracket/mount

Next week I should be able to swap the front ends over

Well joy of joys

I have been made redundant today
(I have a feeling it was going to happen)
But it means while I'm on my 45 day consultation period I will have time to get the bike sorted

Ps anyone got any jobs going in the south east????

You can go up to 1.3mm but I found there was a lack of power at the bottom end.... as far as I remember there are 1.15mm jets in yours....

I will go though the old paperwork and see if there is any info there as well

Thanks for that. Any information gratefully received as there doesn't seem to much info available on the subject. Most comments I've seen reckon these bikes don't like pod filters. My feeling is that very few who've fitted pods have had them properly set up on a dyno.

Found this in the paperwork

I don't know what it means but it's got more power after the dyno run

FZS600 Fazer / Re: Polishing Metal
« on: 25 February 2014, 11:23:18 am »
My advice

Watch YouTube
Find somone what can watch you do it as it's not as easy as it looks
Get the tools
And have fun

I just picked up a angle grinder. Mops and compound

I'll be getting a 2nd hand swingarm and polishing that for practice
If it works I'll be installing that

Then I'll polish the one that's on my bike to resell it and make some money back

Failing that find a company to do it
