Hiya fellas, hopefully you can help. Have a good friend living in Barking Side with a '98 ZX9R who is struggling to find a good honest mechanic at a decent rate. At present all he has is the Kawasaki dealer called Bacon Motors in Newbury Park and is so far very disappointed with them to say the least. Really needs a good old fashioned fella who can set valve clearances, carb balancing and general good servicing. Barkingside/Romford/Chigwell etc Any advice as always appreciated. Cheers

Hiya fellas,
Sounds very basic but can't find any info and don't want to bugger it. Changing my CBF screen to the one in the pic below - now all I can find is the advice of "remove the two plastic covers on the screen". Does anyone know if they just ping off or if they need to be compressed and slid up or down? After that it's a simple bolt removal.
Any advice as always appreciated.

Hiya fellas,
Fecked off with BT so looking for other options.
The landline has developed a fault which after contacting BT they said "yup, a fault at the exchage" or similar only to change within minutes to "fault at your end so need to book an engineer at a £130 cost - if required". Now everyone I've spoken to has failed to get away with not paying this £130 - the feckers just add it to the bill. Wifi still works and it's the old style BT socket with no test socket.
So looking for a Wifi and phone alternative - no cable down our road.
Is this available via Free sat somehow?
Cheers in advance

Now I admit that I used to wear a proper Oxford Hi Viz waist coat jobby until a couple of years ago I thought "doesn't make any feckin difference if they're not looking" and that it was useless when filtering to cars in front so stopped wearing it. Not had any dissimilar incidents since but noticed a lot more bike accidents this year since the dark nights/rain and mainly on dual carriageways/motorways.
I've upgraded the headlights & side lights on the CBF workhorse, added LED hand guards but for some reason am more cautious than previous years when filtering due to the incidents I've seen. Another tonight on the A329M going home, one on M4 Monday evening, another M4 Tuesday morning.
Just thought I'd ask the question as to your thoughts and if you've ever thought the Hi Viz has helped.

Hiya fellas, Just want to pick your brains as this is the first helmet cam I've had. Work mate moving to Abu Dhabi and clearing/flogging all his gear. Picked up this camera for £20 which is only 5 months old. Seems to be good enough for my needs at a stupid price. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Chilli-Technology-Action-120-Helmet/dp/B00D43I1DSNow - do most people get the best results from mounting on the side or top of the helmet. Thinking of any turbulence it may cause at 90mph and best imaging for London's packed roads should I need evidence. At the moment it will be mounted with sticky pads and tie wraps to my Shoei GT Air with a light weight lanyard to the chin strap D ring. All ideas, thoughts and experiences appreciated as always. Essentially its on top or on the side of the helmet. Cheers

Hiya fellas, As per title, looking to buy a new car but with a twist. I'm a Ltd company, VAT registered with both myself and the Mrs as Directors - the Mrs also being the company secretary. Was wondering if there are any good (legit) ways of buying the Mrs a new car which would be either declared as a Pool car or a company car. Naturally looking for the little loop holes but looking to spend around £10 - £13k. Any advice on what would be the best way and how much can be claimed back etc. Cheers in advance for any advice

Stuck a post in the Fazer 8 section about the bike. If anyone has any experience and advice they can offer it would be much appreciated. http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,18279.0.htmlPost read as below Hiya fellas,As per title really. Looking to replace my Tiger 900 and had a look at a lovely blue 2011 Fazer 8 - 11k miles, 1 owner, fully serviced, with new PR3 tyres and rack also thrown in for £4,800 from a main dealer.Thing is, I need to do about 180 miles from a tank but all the reviews say that 40 - 45mpg is the average. With a 17 litre tank I'm not going to manage it.......or am I ? My daily one way use is 30 m/way miles at 90 mph then 10 -15 miles dodging round London. Any advice much appreciated Noggy - I dunno frostiesNot the busiest place the 8 side of th forum but im sure they'll jump at the chance for some action.I think we all pretty much established that on the thou 150 miles coul e squeezed out.Could be wrong here but i think most stuff is the same and so surely going from 1000cc to 800cc could gain you those extra 30 miles.......but even if it does you'll be cuffing it i reckon rather than comfortably knowing it is so.They are still heavy those 8's so regardless of cc drop they still gotta lug allot of weight about. They certainly dont do 200 or we'd have heard plenty trumpetting about that long ago ie comparing to the Gen1 thou etc etc.....how well do they cut hedges though type stuff.
Me - Doesn't seem to be busy Nog. I know they didn't sell loads buuuuut.........From what i can gather, the lump is a sleeved down thou jobby but could be wrong. Read on the web some guy was averaging 55mpg and squeezed 192 miles with a twitchy arse which leaves just over a litre - didn't explain his riding style though. After my van collision (first in over 25yrs) up town where I locked in the wet (no time to cadence), a little switch has turned on in my head re ABS. I've changed to PR3's which may have helped at the time but who knows.....the switch is on and I'm going to out the Tiger to gain ABS (not allowed to fill that space in the garage with a 3rd ). I bloody love the Tiger but the Fazer 600 is a much better town bike squeezing those gaps so of more use to me.Reckon they'd trim that hedge a damm sight better than Nicks poor effort

Hiya fellas, As per title, I've had enough of the shite Windows 8 and want to buy Windows 7. Had a scout round but can't seem to find anywhere that I can walk in and walk out with a set of software in my hands. I can only find online download sites like the link below. So am I ok to do it this way or are there any other options? Also, what's the difference between Windows 7 home and professional editions? Essentially, the only use that I specifically need is the ability for the version to be able to accept a USB to serial adapter.http://www.coastalsoftware.co.uk/microsoft-windows/windows-7/professional-oem-32bit-download-deliveryAll advice as always appreciated.

Hiya fellas, Had my first collision in over 25yrs today. Polish van driver in a Mercedes box van pulled straight out in front, grabbed a handful, locked the front, stuck my left leg down and slammed into his wing on full left lock (bike stayed up). The right hand side of my fairing is buggered and also looks out of kilter - can only get one finger between front brake and fairing on full lock whilst a good four fingers between clutch and fairing on full lock. Need to find a place for a repair quote nearish by (or in London as working there) so any recommendations welcome. Driver works for a Polish transport company but all good - have witnesses, insurance details, pics, reg etc. The owner wants a chance at a cash deal and have discussed with my insurance company who have logged it for now just to cover all angles. As said, all recommendations welcome. Couple of pics below of his front wing - thought Mercs were supposed to be tough but maybe a Fazer fairing plus me at 6'4" and 18 stone is better

Hiya fellas, Hope you can help me out again. Noticed over the last couple of days that on load and above 5-6k Rpm and 40mph there seems to be a slight irregular knock which feels like it's coming from the front of the engine - nothing rolling off or at idle or even when clutch dipped at any speed. Now I know the cam chain has been noisy since I bought it some 16k miles ago and was wondering if this could be the culprit. Any ideas welcome. Cheers

Hiya fellas, Right- got totally soaked through on Friday in my textiles apart from my TCX boots. My Furygan Jacket and trousers and Racer Titan gloves used to be good but totally failed in the heavy downpour. Yeah, I've got over jacket/trousers wet set but they were in the other bike What I've done - washed them through to get the crap out then re washed using a triple dose of the Nikwax wash in stuff. Then sprayed 3 times with the Nikwax direct spray on. The gloves will have to do until I order some Richa Cold Protect GTX or others. Now - have I wasted my time due to Nikwax being shite and/or is there some better product out there that is dependable. Any advice, as always, appreciated fellas so teach me Cheers

Right then fellas ........... more advice needed Got nabbed doing 54 in a variable 40 on the M25 and been lucky enough to get an awareness course for the bargain price if £95 (robbing bastards). The thing is, my natural character always leans towards having a laugh and a bit of banter (literally can't help it), so am at odds as to how to approach this course (need to have a bit of fun eh) Options are a) Act like a total fuckwit who hasn't the faintest clue about anything and ask stupid questions..... b) Totally disagree with everything the "expert" *cough* explains to us just to try to get him to blow..... c) Sit still and shut up with zero input..... d) Hang head in shame and totally agree with everything...... Any advice as always appreciated...........especially anyone who knows of any really awkward questions to ask or scenarios to present which will totally screw the head of the "expert" who is just running his script.

Hiya fellas, Looking for some advice on my trusty battleship. When new, the fork dive on the Tiger ('98 carbs) was described as excessive and still is compared to the Fazer or indeed a modern day adventure style bike like a V Strom thou. This was probably due to the manufacturing era of "these bikes ARE dual purpose". Now whilst I like the fork dive to a degree, mainly because it ensures maximum tyre compression and contact area under a hard panic brake, the dive is excessive and you do get thrown forward a fair degree, not to mention the braking is down on the Fazers ability (110 section tyres, EBC HH pads and braided hoses on both bikes - bur smaller discs on Tiger with additional 40kg weight). Currently over road imperfections it also feels a bit harsh on poor rutted surfaces so wouldn't want to increase this. Not sure if I have progressives fitted (doubt it) but the oil certainly hasn't been changed in around 30k miles so requires changing soon. The fronts are also non adjustable apart from choice of springs/spacers and oil weight. The question is - will I gain more braking efficiency if the front is tighter or not. If I won't gain braking power then will leave the springs as is. Any advice as always much appreciated Cheers

Hiya fellas, We already have a caravan which gets well used but recently the kids and surprisingly the Mrs want to go camping. I'm all up for this but don't want to spend more than say £250 ish on a tent. Most of the other gear we already have. It's not going to be used past say the end of September and only for long 3 day weekends so I think waterproofness and space along with ease of setting up are priorities unless someone advises otherwise. Really looking for advice on size, style and features needed on a tent. Have added a link to one I've seen on Millets for a starting point http://www.millets.co.uk/equipment/003837-vango-woburn-500-5-man-tent.html All advice much appreciated

Hiya fellas,
Think this is a simple question for someone.
Got a Givi rack (frame mount) fitted to my boxeye and was wondering if this would fit straight onto a Gen1 1000?
To me it should being a similar frame but need to make sure before I venture into maybe buying a Gen1,
Any advice as always appreciated, including how much for a pucker Gen1 frame mount rack (non sports rack).
Cheers

Hiya fellas,
As per title, I'm looking to change the mirrors on my Tiger as next week will be commuting to London and the current mirrors are the same bloody height as van mirrors.
Had an idea - the current mirror 10mm holes are as per usual inboard of both grips. So was thinking that if I could get stubbies with 10mm thread then I should be able to see under my arm and straight down the side of my body.
Been hunting around but can't find any.
Have attached a pic of the sort of thing I'm after. The pic shows bar end style - I'm looking for similar ones with a 10mm thread in place of the expansion bolt.
Any help as always much appreciated.
