Just did a round trip of 80 miles round the M25 this morning in -2  :eek  to Fins at Redhil to get a new clutch fitted (under warranty, good service Fins) on my Foxeye Fazer.
First Fazer so not sure what to expect from the engine but will get the carbs balanced anyway.
Bike rides really well so happy with it.    Good stuff.

This happened to my beloved XJ900 on the way to work one morning last year, filtering around 40 through rush hour on the way to work.

New to Fazers here,,

Bought the bike last week, happy with it etc, it all does what it's supposed to BUT!
When the bike's idling it's a bit rough sounding like a sewing machine. No cam chain rattle as such, just lumpy. Over 2000 revs, happy days! Thinking it could be the carbs need balancing but under throttle goes great.
I do a lot of filtering through London at low revs and it can get to be a pain. Do they all do that, Sir?

FZ6 / Fazer / Re: Chain and Sproket
« on: 01 February 2012, 08:35:24 pm »
Just as an aside, I had an emergency chain and sprocket replacement job in my garage one Saturday morning. Had a ZX6R at the time and one of the rollers had come away from the pin so there was a dirty great jump on the chain  :o

Got a lift down to the local bike shop, bought a DID chain with replacement sprockets and fitted it.

Had to file one of the linking pins down with a 2nd cut file, levered it off and fitted the new chain on mushrooming the joining pin with a hammer.  :)
Apparently it was ok beacuse I got another 20K plus miles out of it before I sold it.

FZ6 / Fazer / Oil level check
« on: 28 January 2012, 10:00:37 am »
Hi there, new Fazer owner here,,,

Just read the post on Fazer maintenance and would like to check the correct method of checking the oil. What it said in the document was to run the bike for a few minutes then stop, let it settle and check the oil level. Normally I'd do this when the bike is cold and sitting on a level surface. Is this correct? Wouldn't like to overfill it  :o

Cheers guys,

Hi there, thought I'd join the club as I've just bought a,,,, Fazer!
Previous bikes have been larger or faster but now's the time to be sensible  :lol
Mostly I commute 350 miles a week but looking forward to the warmer weather and now the boy's into bikes as well, the continent is calling me again. Roll on Assen!
