Any of you guys out there got an unwanted, fairly good nick 125 they no longer need?
My sister has just done her CBT,  and wants a bit of biking experience before doing her test and climbing aboard her boxeye she has sitting waiting for her.

I don't have one but recommend she avoids anything Chinese. Stick with something like the YBR125
Another ex-Fazer rider that is a foccer again

Yeah, already warned her off from Chinese bikes. She'd like either a Yam or Ho##da, as its only for a few months then she can pass it down to her daughter who's about to hit 17.

I had a honda cbr 125 and loved it! Great little bike, doesn't sound too bad for a little single, gearbox is a bit clunky but then the engine and gearbox are from a scrambler so can put up with a fair amount of abuse as long as oil changes are kept on top of!

It's small but it's very nippy up to about 40ish, a lot sharper for someone lighter than my ample frame though...  :o  MPG is amazing too!

The other thing is as long as she doesn't drop it then she'll easily sell it for what she paid for it. I did  8)

It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.

Thanks Chris, yeah they're great little bikes, my son had 2 of them (one got nicked). He crashed it 5 times, and every time it was rideable........just! He ran it out of oil twice, and it just kept on going!
Tried convincing my sis to get one, and she quite likes the yam equivalent. Can't say I blame her really :o

My lad has a little gn which we picked up for pennies. He has mildly 'bobbered' it and it looks the part with polished chrome and antique white paintwork. Cracking little bike and sounds nice with its megaphone can being a single.

If she means the YZF125R (basically the mini R6), stick well away, if she drops it the fairing panels are not cheap to replace - if it'[s just a couple months get her one of the smaller naked ones, they'll do what she wants whilst not losing money!

My girlfriend will be selling her 125DT which has been lowered a little (dog bones, still have originals). 57 plate, 5000 miles or less, not sure, mot septemberish, tax not sure, blue and white, graphics not perfect but ok. DEP exhaust but has a dent on it from last owner (prick) we have original but its crap compaired to DEP one. 1800 pound I think she is thinking about, done around 100 miles since last service. Starts on the button first time.
PM me your number and I'll send you a photo if you want, proper advert will follow at some point.

Regards
Russ

Thanks for the offer Russ. I asked her about it, and she doesn't think a trailie's for her. She's pretty much bought a CBR from Preston, just needs me to test ride it tomorrow.

Well she's bought one! A CBR125 of 08 vintage. Had a ride on it before she bought it, and what a hoot! I don't think I stopped giggling for the 1/2 hour I rode it.

So if your round the south lakes area, and see this black/white CBR125, give her a nod, in a few months time she'll be a fazer rider :D

Great choice! I'd love to have a go of my old cbr125 now that I've had a bigger bike and more experience. Goodluck to her!
