Just do as haddock says twat them out,i just used a very large screwdriver wasn't much left of the bearings when i was finished but new ones going in anyway.Freeze the new bearings overnight before you put in and they will more than likely just drop in or need a very light tap, don't throw a wheel just cos the bearings have gone £12 and its fixed.
Front wheel much easier to get out.

« on: 12 March 2012, 12:42:38 pm »
Had a similar problem when i fitted my delkavic can & link pipe but mine was blowing at the downpipe joint thought it was my gasket being old so bought a new one but was still blowing,i used some of this kind of sealant and has been leak free for over 12 months now,if you use this stuff make sure you let it cure for 36-48 hours before starting the bike or it will leak as it wont have cured properly.Or if your leak is not to bad you could just let the carbon build up and that may seal it naturally mine was pretty bad so had no choice but to use sealant.

There is also 2 if i remember right metal dowels these might be stuck if it has not been removed for some time.
Give it a gentle tap with a rubber mallet should free it no problem.

« on: 08 March 2012, 01:37:19 pm »
I have michelin road pilot 2 tyres on mine and they grip the road like no other tyre i have had, i have had them on the bike for nearly 5 years and 12000 miles and they still have over half the tread and are not squared off like others i have had, will be buying more when they eventually give in which is not looking like any time soon.

« on: 19 February 2012, 07:38:18 pm »
need to take the front wheel off make sure you take it off backwards not forward the drive is on the left side as if you where sitting on the bike, make sure you do not force anything as the speedo drive lugs will snap just take your time, make sure when replacing the unit that you put the lugs into the slots before putting the wheel back on its an easy job but just take your time and if you have some help will be easier to do.

Does any of you have any idea's weather it would be better to just get the dogbone replaced which apparently means stripping and splitting the engine

Dogbones are what gives you a different ride height like if you want to jack the bike up or lower it you buy different lengths.
Its the selector shaft that your on about which i think can be done without major surgery but someone else with more knowledge will probably tell you as i have not done one on the fazer, good one to ask is Gnasher if he is still about.

Good luck.

Fitted one of them to my bike in april after my bike was kindly wrote off by a blind twat in a car.
Anyway got the bike back and fixed all that needed doing including the exhaust and linky, the delkavic is pretty loud with a nice rumble, mine pops and bangs on the overrun but you get used to it dont know if anyone elses does that but its quite normal with the stubby can,can and linky still look spanking and i use the bike in all weathers all year round.

Hope that helps.[/img][/img]

Me bike now
