With the new plugs and both centre coils replaced with tested second hand ones, she's back to been the bike I bought earlier this year. Went for a 15 mile test ride and had no issues, apart from forgetting about the average speed cameras near Beverley.  :'( Fingers crossed.

Are you an East Riding resident Panzerbuilder?  :)

My bike has been attacked while I was away  :o . I am in need of a new petrol tank and front fairing for a 2004 Fazer 1000. Red/Black ideally, but I'm realistic and will take what I can get.
What are my chances?
Any ideas? Anyone?

Thanks

Harsh!! What's happened to her??  :eek

Very nice work!

I always find myself standing in the garage staring at my bike with all these ideas and intentions...

The hard part is actually getting off my arse and doing them!  :lol

Or maybe I'm just one of those obsessed individuals that can't leave something alone!!  :rollin  Drives the Mrs mad when the parcels start arriving!!  :D

Seeing as I got picked up on this before I might as well spread the love :o You're probably not "considering dropping the forks through the yolks" but raising them through the yokes or dropping the yokes down the forks.

I don't recall seeing as much advice regarding this mod on the Gen2 which as I understand it is sharper steering 'out of the box' than the Gen1 so perhaps doesn't benefit as much from more weight on the front end. It's a 5 minute job on the Gen1 so assume it's roughly the same on the Gen2, Why not try it for yourself and see how you get on, then report back to let us know. I recon 10mm would be a good starting point.

Cheers for the heads up PieEater... Will experiment and report back my findings!!  :)

morning Foccers,

I am considering dropping the front forks through the yolks... Can any one please remind me the recommended amount.. Was it 10mm? Can any of you give feedback to how it feels on the road after this mod?

Cheers,

Charlie :lol

Thanks for that Devilsyam... Unfortunately I need the gear shift rod to travel through the frame as I'm tight for space at the top end where I have my silicon hoses... Proper bargain too....  :'(

That empty on Mad Sunday and Cars  :eek :eek

It's clearly not the same anymore  :'(

It's one way for the full 2 weeks... It still gets busy... Don't be fooled by the video.. But it really does sum up what it's like over there. It's like wacky bike races when everyone scrambles to their race viewing point around the track.  :rollin

Yep I have given up trying to convince myself it's ok  :lol
Although the bike is starting fine the battery is obviously on its way out, it's holding charge is dropping slightly every time I check.
Found the Yuasa YTZ14S for 64£  :)

Have you a link for the Yuasa battery? Cheers  :D

Just double check it's the right one before you order  :lol

Or by an ex-racer. ;)

I get your point but would say it was 50/50 the main thing being that I was making the decisions as to what felt right after each small adjustment not a paid "expert"  who could only set it up according to their preference in a limited amount of time. Plus I got the experience of learning exactly how each adjuster affects the bike by physically feeling the difference.

Time for me to find an ex racer I thinks!!  :lol

That looks like a lot of work, how long did it take you?

To be honest I can't remember... Just took my time cleaning and sorting.. I took the headers off too... And necked a bolt so that held me up.. In total I've spent 13 days stripping, cleaning and upgrading.  8)

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Brake rotor bolts on FZ1
« on: 07 December 2015, 07:44:59 pm »
evening Foccers!!

My lovely new brembo rotors have arrived today and I wish to replace the bolts whilst I am on with it... Been looking on fleabay and there seems to be a decent choice from oem to titanium... But before I order any just wondering if any of you are selling stainless/titanium bolts direct? As I would prefer to line your back pocket and not fleabays.

Cheers,

Charlie
