This was taken on the North Coast of N.Ireland not that far from Portrush. Castle in background is Dunluce Castle.

My missus took one look at it and replied "dont even think about it" :\
Guess its still out to the shed for me :o
Here's mine. Picked it up yesterday after being off the road for about 6 months due to an injury. Paint is fresh, but the rest of the bike needs a little cleaning up. New seat amongst many other new bits on their way soon For now, I'm just chuffed to be back riding again :)

Thank you all guys :D
as if ive just been to KFC with u Foccer! haha, didnt realise this was ur bike at all!
looks different in the dark and in my mirrors :b :b
hi spoonman where did you get the bellypan from?Hey Bootz. I can't find the hugger online and can't remember where I got it. Sorry. It's not great quality, very thin plastic (found that out when I tried to get it welded) but it looks ace after being painted and new decals put on!
Another black one.
Definitely not as pretty as Louis' above or Born to be Mild's one on the previous page, but that's the result of 140,000 miles, plenty of winter use and an owner who doesn't think cosmetic problems are problems worth spending cash on. :)
What is your end can? I think its the same as mine? It's a Viper from Sandy Bikespares. It sounds OK, though I keep the baffle in to avoid upsetting the neighbours when I come home late. The finish isn't great, the anodising (if there was any) gave up within a few weeks of exposure to salted roads... still, at least it's a good match for the front fork bottoms. :lol
nice and cleanok ok nice but it 1000 :rolleyes this is about 600 ;) start you own in 1000 forum ;)
Which mirrors are they? Look better than standard.2002/2004 fazer600 or 1000c ;) i guess :)

I got them from the louis site (http://www.louis.eu (http://www.louis.eu)) - 30 Euros for the pair including postage.
Just dug out my old history and this is them - http://www.louis.eu/index.php?topic=artnr_gr&artnr_gr=10028310&typ_id=RJO25 (http://www.louis.eu/index.php?topic=artnr_gr&artnr_gr=10028310&typ_id=RJO25)
The left one is perfect but the right is a little loose at the moment. Could just be me, but the extra length has made a huge difference to being able to see what the hell is going on. Before hand all I had was a lovely view of my elbow :lol
How did you get that wheely bin on the back !
I like what you've done with your indicators and removing the "yamaha" stickers was a good move but that's my opinion and undoubtedly others would disagree.

Mark try powerbronze for the screen i thinks its a flipup +3inches

Powerbronze dont list a flip-up screen for the FZS (2001 fazer), but I'll check some other suppliers.
Just realised I dont have a decent outside shot of the bike since it was repaired.
This is as close as ive got - need to take more

Updated picture of bike with bellypan fitted, at last, only took 9 months to get it sprayed!!
This is my (http://www.capitolfb.com/images/heart_pumping.gif)
It's a 2003 model, my 5th bike, done with it more than 31.000 miles so far. Fell in love with it immediately, never really needed more than this (I had a chance to swap it for 1000cc model but didn't).
The last pic is of a little owl that I saved from the road, several years ago. I've put it in my garage with food and clothes that night, just to find it on my bike next morning :)
She probably went for the heat of the motor but I like to think it's because of the bike :D
Mine.
Usually I'm not a fan of the side fairing on the Fazers but that looks awesome! Very nice looking bike there :)

Your a bit young to be riding Fazers aren't you. You can't be much older than my little lad of 8. God knows how may times he's tried to convince me that he could ride it on his own, and then goes into a major sulk went I try to explain to him that he can't touch the ground. I love him to pieces though. He my best friend. :) :) :) :) :)Joe is 3. He keeps asking me why I'm not going out on the red one. He also said I need to buy a blue one....

I got it off eBay for £970, but it might need the cam chain doing. I couldn't help it. All part of my early midlife crisis
Are you talking about mr Exup from the welsh bikers, or are we on completely different wave lengths????????
I see , We have a Mr exup on the welsh bikers forum. I he can be, shall we say, a bit of a Prick sometimes cos he always has an opinion and knows how to rub people up the wrong way. But thats another story.

HEY SIMON......get yourself back on ebay and buy some weed killer :lol
look at the ground in the picture of your two bikes Si ;)
Chris
I'd be inclined to give the engine a good degreasing then spray it with heat resistant spray while you've got it out of the frame, 'cos it's the perfect time to do it for a bit of future proofing on the paintwork. :)

Yeah, alright Unfazed, you jammy b*****d, I'll bet that's your estate in the background, too...!I wish :'(
It is a lovely to ride. Strangely enough it feels much lighter than the 600, but it is the same physical size and the lack of weight is noticible, which make it even more flickable than the 600. The power band kicks in at 9000 revs and it revs all the way to the 13000 redline. It is capable of 120mph but a little slower than the 600 to get there. When I first bought it a few years ago it had standard fork springs and rear shock which made it very softly sprung and under damped. I changed the fork springs to Hagon progressive, fitted the 600 type adjusters and put in fresh standard fork oil. I also bought a Hagon shock for the rear and now is great on the road. My youngest son uses it for going to college and has embarrassed quite a few sports 600 with it. I personally think it is one of the most under rated of all the Jap import 400s I have ridden. The Full Set

Just out of curiosity, what's the 400 like to ride (as compared to the 600)?
I really like that particular colour scheme on the thou and if I was to get one it would definitely be the colour I'd look out for (sorry Exupnut :P)
Actually, it's scientifically proven that yellow is much more slippery, generating less air friction and so allowing the bike to go faster...
I've never had a problem with microwaves bouncing off of my bike - I just don't ride it through the kitchen section of Currys...Never caught sppeding then :lol
"Caught" being the operative word... :D
It's a thundercat frontend, hence the tiger stripes, (a play on words!)
I really like that particular colour scheme on the thou and if I was to get one it would definitely be the colour I'd look out for (sorry Exupnut :P)
Don't apologise - it's mainly black, as we all know that's the fastest one. Don't apologise for preferring a clearly superior machine! :lol

Mainly black is fine, all black is boring :P
There, I said it, now I'm going to leave the country and avoid the plethora of verbal artillery :P
What has the speed of a motorbike got to do with the speed of light and radio waves ?
I'm proper confused now I was under the impression the speed of a motorbike was it's distance covered divided by the time taken to cover that distance ?
:\

picked this one up the other week, last one was a silver ice 02
Gave it a bit of TLC in the sunshine :smokin
:evil :evil
Could just be me (I'm sure it is) but shouldn't/couldn't this be in the general forum rather than 600 ? I'm sure we'd love to see the thou's, FZ6's etc too :-). Given the number of posts, it's a popular topic so the move could be justified.

Yes - the paint was wiped off just after I took the pic!
The bars are renthal lows - its just the clocks being low down that makes them look high!
Still got to do some thing with the seat - I like the look of Geordis streetfighter seat
Satin black all the way!

This thread makes me sad since mine is so dirty :(
It needs a lot more than just a clean, that's for sure. Needs a complete strip down and respray - I have neither the time nor the inclination to undertake such a task however :P

Finally, here's a couple of mine, just after it's pre- winter bath!
Still lots to do, but really happy with it so far.
Very nice - one of those bikes that the more you look, the more you see - at first it's just the colour; wait a minute, that's not the Yamaha gold, nice matching belly pan. Then the forks - what're those from? And then you spot WP - so a quality rear shock too. Nice polished rims and cam end caps, comfy, smart looking seat etc - anything else I can't see?
finaly my phone and puta are talking to each other again :lol
here is my recent purchase
last pick how do i tell how much oil is in it

Put bike on centre stand on a flat surface, start engine and let run for about a minute, switch engine off then check the little window.
There are lower and upper level markings to the side of the window, you'll see the oil rise then eventually stop, you want the oil to be between the 2 levels.
DON'T OVER FILL WITH OIL.

It was brought out of focus???? ;)
It was brought out of focus???? ;)
WTH..?? Don't know how that happened... :\
Nice never seen one with a Yoshi exhaust, looks great how does it sound? I like the white rim tape, it's the only colour I would ever consider choosing and I may put some on after I repaint my wheels as the whole painting the writing on my tyres thing takes too much time and goes muddy after 1 ride in the rain.
Looks like that MASSIVE exhaust has ripped your number plate off mate. !
Twin dominator headlights, also known as candles!!!!! ;)
Glad to hear it buck
Its the best bike you didn't get rid of 8)
Might look better with a black mudguard?

That's a diy job mate, I had some 5mm aluminium plate lying around, cut the holes with hole saws...
Believe it or not I polished it first to a mirror shine but it looked odd on the bike so I roughed it back up and painted it :rolleyes

Haha! It's looking the worse for wear after a week commuting in the rain now,
But there is something deeply medicinal comes from spending 3 hours cleaning a bike ;-)
Quite happy doing it, just not happy doing it weekly!
Can't wait till the better weather, at least I'll get a month out of a good clean then :-)
Seriously considering slowly dismantling it bit by bit each day off I get then deep cleaning the components before refitting with stainless fixings, serious dough involved in posh bolts though :-/
(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/01/12/numu9a9y.jpg)
I bit the bullet and bought this one today.
Collect it Saturday, so my maiden voyage will be from derby to Kent!

Yeah, I've got to make a serious commitment to keep it really clean, but I don't want it to turn into a sunny weekend queen, it's a daily rider and like you if I can just stay on top of it I'll be really happy.Have you not considered zinc plating the nuts you have. I seem to remember reading in classic m/c mech's there are kits available for Diy.
Chrome or stainless headers would be a bonus though!

thats one of the reasons I bought that bike ;)
I like those wee side flaps hiding the spark plugs. Are they easy enough to remove for access to change the plugs?
Ive got the same belly pan, complete with matching cable tie!!! ;)
Yet to see how they cope with a bit of turbulence though.
U wont on a 6 hehe

Cleaning after a ride in the sun
Yeah, awesome picture! No idea about which side it should be, was on that side when I bought it. I've removed it now anyway, the red colour was slowing it down :)
Isn't the tax disc meant to be on the left side of the bike though?
Chris
Oh dear! What's wrong with it?
Yeah, awesome picture!Good pic

But the tax disk is a new one on me (dont think thats right ) -- not, not on the right - but not right as in its not right that it has to be on the left. If I am right.

Depends on how you look at it....from behind (snigger) its on the right........from the front its on the left.....who says its from behind or the front to determine whether its right or left
Roll on October, no more tax disc.Mine is due next month so as far as I am aware I will still have to display it untill next April 2015 as it will be on the old system ??
99% standard Fazer 600 from year 2000.

When Chuck Norris was asked if his bike was as clean as Doddsie's he replied, "erm, no" :o
I had help......
Ever bought the same bike twice, I just have! Sold it last year to pay a vets bill, got back from hols Monday did a quick search for bikes local to me and there she was, the bloke I sold it to was selling because he only did 500 miles in a year and spent nearly as much time as me polishing it, so despite not having enough money did a bit of financial jebuggery and it's now mine again, this time to stay...

[/qMust be Karma--"What goes around -comes around. What a result! a bike with known history, everything sorted & taxed & MOTd into the bargain. As a Foxeye aficionado must admit those shiny black Boxeyes look good! :loluote]
Clear indicators sounds like a plan :thumbup .. The Red wheel stripes are clashing with the orange :lol

"Ol Dirty Foccer" representing :evil
Getting there slowly! Only a few things left to sort out!Whats with those mirrors--- they look like Goofys ears for some reason
Mine after full strip, respray and rebuild
I swear gold wheels make any bike look good.
Really want them :'(
I swear gold wheels make any bike look good.
Really want them :'(
My bike is bright yellow, I doubt they'd work on that!
think its a no-go to polish the swing arm as the original finish is not paint (I think) and it is almost impossible to do.Prep well & use a few light coats of Black Hammerite Smoothrite-worked on mine!
The torque arm is just an extra dangly bit that in my view is best painted black to help it disappear
Here's my 2008 bikefantastic - where did you get all the extra body parts from , around the wheel, lower fairing, frame covers, etc.etc. ??
Here's my '02 foxeye
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v476/Kwakapal/DSC_03731_zpsb7c2e0c1.jpg)
Fitted a Givi rack & top box :lolLook at him , show off git with his waveys :)
I bought it privately from an old fella in Haslemere, he'd only had it a few months as his circumstances changed, I believe he got it from a dealers, so this could be the one you saw.
Did you pick this up from Right Gear Motorcycles in Langley? I looked at 1 they had back in April or so, this looks to be that bike
I saw it on Gumtree for £1,400 but think they had it on Biketrader for £1,500. The lower price was a bit more than I wanted to pay given condition but they wouldn't budge.I paid less than those two prices but more than you did for yours.
Happy with what you paid for it?
He's my Fazer, soon be on the road

Hi, I know this is a really old thread but I'm looking at putting clip ons and a single light conversion on my fazer, and I just wondering how you mounted the standard clocks?
Nice.....black is definitely the fastest colour for a box eye 6.....way faster than red ....ain't that true Red...Correct !
Get that hideous can changed.

Never been bothered by it either.Nice.....black is definitely the fastest colour for a box eye 6.....way faster than red ....ain't that true Red...

I quit like the standard can...
Agreed. Looks better with a smaller can, plus you'd be surprised how good it sounds with a free-flowing can!1- I only weigh 10stone wet so a few grams wont matter
Stock can weighs a ton too.

i see your using the later model mirrors, these dont seem any wider to me so my question is have they improved the viewing angle from behind?Don't you get it yet !
I have no issues with standard mirrors. That's because you have thin skinny girl shoulders :pokefun

Well here's how my 98 streetfighter looks at the mo, pretty pleased with the result, nearly crossed over to the dark side at weekend then I went for a blast and changed my mind :rolleyes :lol :evilLooks interesting but how far can you go before you have to stop saying its a fazer.
