I got new boots. Same as the old ones.

from a certain well known boot manufacturer in Richmond I believe.

Boot on the left is the Altberg Clubman fae 2000.
Boot on the right is my band new Altberg Clubman Microlight.
Worth noting these are available not only in half sizes but 5 width's. Normal width is often available off the peg, but I went for wide fit so had to wait a wee while fae ma boots after ordering.

They also do very nice walking boots, again available in 5 widths. Extra narrow, narrow, normal, wide and extra wide. I like wide.
Here next to my old Meindl, which themselves are really good boots but they pinched my toes. Hard to find wide fit boots.

You certainly seemed to have got your money's worth out of the old ones, judging by the look!
I didn't know Altberg did specific bike boots. Mind you, they look a bit pricey. I've got Alpinestars Web GTX at the moment, very good, and cheaper than those (also got them even cheaper as I worked at the warehouse of the importer at the time :D ). We'll see how long they last though - done about 2 1/2 years so far, and still seem fine.

They are superb, which is obviously why I bought em again.
Not only are they very comfortable on the bike but as they have a proper walking boot sole they are comfortable fae walking aboot in too.
Not cheap, but top notch quality.

God I bet them new ones feel like steel on your feet compared to the old ones haha I just bought a new pair of race boots last week and they are like walking in cinder blocks at the minute

Yup they do feel a bit stiff. I just wanna put the old uns on. Plus the old ones look great.
But old uns are done, so gotta go with the new. Hopefully they soon break in and stop looking so new.

No joking, a workmate of mine had a pair of 10yr old trainers, wrecked to fuck, proper stinkers, and in a generally bad way.
So he put them on Ebay as "Ideal for foot fetish", and some wrong'un in New York paid £25 for them + £25 postage. :lol

Yeah but you don't need walking boots if you have a FZS 600 cos they don't break down. Ahhhhh! I see why you bought then now, how is the thou going :rollin

I have exactly the same boots, they are brilliant, I got them made to measure by calling in to the factory in Richmond as I was on my way down to York university.
I went for the wide fit this time. I've got their walking boots and found that the wide fit made a big diference. Wide fit is made to order.
If you visit the factory they can also make adjustments for instep and calf size.
If you've got really weird feet they can do made to measure, but it's upwards of a grand :eek , unless you already have your personal last held at the factory from a previous order which will save you about 500 quid.

Bought an FZS600 new in 1999. Did 25,000 miles on it. Eventually became puzzled by strange noise form transmission. Removed the front sprocket cover, the remains of the factory fitted tab washer and nut were bouncing about on the output shaft :eek :eek :eek . Got the correct thread file and tried to tidy up. Bought new nut and tab washer along with chain and sprockets. Nut would not torque up as required. Borrowed arc welder. Held sprocket in place with nut and added three large spot welds. Rode about for a few weeks, then traded in for a proper bike – my FZS1000. Had the thou for 13 years now.

Dunno how long you have had your FZS600 tommyyardin, but front sprocket issues are common.

I wouldn't worry about Tomski VNA, the home removed the bike's battery and fitted an extension lead - he doesn't go far :lol
