Prefer silver but anything considered. For 2005 Fazer 1000.
Cheers.

Clutching at straws here, but I wonder if a slight engine vibration is being felt at the handle bars but only when the front wheel is clamped solid by the brake. The buzzing noise could also be from this vibration.
Have you checked the front wheel bearings for any play as that could also be causing the high speed wobble.
All unlikely I know, but there must be an explanation somewhere.
Good luck with it.
Wheel bearing seems fine, not been out for a few days so will continue checking tomorrow during my commute. ...
Cheers.

Does the bike creep with the clutch pulled in and the brakes off, try knocking the bike into neutral  and see if it still does it,  could it be clutch needing adjusted.
No good, still does in neutral  :'(

Will give that a try  :)

Got to be something to do with ABS brakes I would think, but as I know virtually nothing about them I will say no more but watch this post with interest.

Would be my first thought also but I don't have ABS  :'(

Noticed this today when sat in traffic,  not just making a buzzing noise but causing the bars to vibrate....
As soon as I let off the brake lever it stops ....
Anyone had this?
Also got a fairly bad front end wobble at 110+mph (on track) that I have been trying to diagnose so I know the discs calipers etc are all tight, this is probably down to the 10k miles I have put on the pr3 tyres, mostly motorway so a bit squared off. Shame as there is loads of tread left. It's only Google telling me this, I'm no expert  :lol
Cheers.

So ordered the rad end covers, EP exhaust hanger and lost the rear pegs, very happy with how it looks now  :D

Well happy with the seat considering the price, very good quality and although I was not sure about a white seat I quite like it  8)
The seat cowl came direct from Ermax, was worried about the colour match as the bike was painted in 2012 and I had no idea what paint they used.... it is actually close enough to presume they used the yam pearl white  :D oh and they even popped a free T-shirt in the box  :lol

Looks really good...what size t-shirt?  :rolleyes
lol Xl  :rollin

Looks fantastic, I like it.  :thumbup

Thanks dazza,  going to order the rad end covers now I know the colour is ok  :)
Much prefer them to mine and they actually serve a purpose directing air through the rad..

Looks stacked, packed and racked.

Have a great voyage. Don't forget to visit Cafe FahrtWind in Honningen before or after the Ring.

Thanks mate, Cafe is a perfect stop point just before the ring. Thanks for that  :D

Personally, I'd junk the spares, its not like your going to sub-Sahara Africa, most of the counties are well served by Yamaha dealers and if you think those components are going to fail (clutch cable) change them now. If your in the UK you wouldn't think twice about doing that sort of mileage between services.

I did 4.5K to Malta, visiting all but Slovakia and Hungary on your list, back in 2014 and only had cable ties, puncture repair kit with additional CO2 bottles, cheap (£10) compressor from tescos, front & rear spindle sockets with large breaker bar. plus obviously standard tool kit with added 6mmAF Allen key, can't get tank off otherwise.

My GEN 1 had a good service beforehand and a new chain and sprockets and had done 35k  before the trip

Just make sure to get a recovery/breakdown insurance and most of all just get out there and enjoy!!!!!!!!  :D

The levers and cables are more for if the bike drops and they get broken  :lol
Yes good breakdown and insurance will be in place  :D

General / Euro road trip spares...
« on: 05 April 2016, 02:35:41 pm »
Hi guys.
Two of us heading off in June covering around 3.5k miles. Bikes are gen 1 & 2 Fazer 1000, both have just been treated to new chain and sprockets and a good check over whilst in the local Yamaha dealer for the work.
They are in good health and will have fresh oil and filter before we head off.

So far for my gen 2 I have spare levers, 2 coil sticks, clutch cable gaffer tape and various size zip ties  :rollin
For the gen 1 so far I think he has levers and cables.
We have puncture repair sorted, spare bulbs and fuses,  chain lube stupid stickers for helmets when in France... good selection of hand tools. ...
So what else should I be taking or things to do before we go.

Countries being covered France Belgium Germany, Austria Hungary Slovakia Switzerland Netherlands and Italy... think that's it  :D

Thoughts and or comments  :)
