FZS600 Fazer / Re: Rear shock replacement

I believe that at 310mm the shock is too long. Having said that, you might be able to fit different length dogbones to restore the correct ride height. Also, that top mounting point looks a bit narrow: again you might get away with fitting thick washers either side.
But what would put me off (apart from not knowing who the manufacturer is) is the apparent lack of damping adjustment beyond basic spring preload? There is no way the one single setting will suit light riders, heavy riders everyone in between as well as taking a pillion or catring luggage around.

Not a fan. It would get you through an MoT but for this price it'd be a miracle if it had the correct spring rate & damping rate to suit your weight. If you must get a replacement shock, keep saving and get something like a basic YSS shock, which at least has some adjustability.

OK, got it. I had looked under "Transmission" but somehow missed it. Too many gears in that image, I guess.

For future reference, the old part number is 90215-30233 but has been superseded by 90215-26241-00. It has only two locking tabs so I recommend replacing it. Unlike some other bikes I've had, there are no "unbent" parts of the washer to utilize.

Most online stores seem to charge quite high delivery rates for a single washer that fits into an envelope, so I guess visiting an actual store is both quicker and cheaper.

A pal used to be a chef there, and got me a ticket to the Festival of Speed once. Going by bike is imperative as local roads get gridlocked :eek .

Bank holiday at Goodwood. Shame it’s not the Festival of Speed or the Revival weekends, that would have been epic. :thumbup

Unless I had free tickets I don't think I would go - I've heard horror stories regarding arriving, parking and exiting the site.

... and withstood ethanol mixed into gasoline better than the old originals.

This is a good point. I don't know if it has been addressed before in another topic.
Doing a quick google search it seems Viton o'rings are more resistant to ethanol than NBR, so that's what I'll look for.
