Mileage is about 1300 now, will check in the morning.not sure what to do tomorrow, might have a lay in and explore the local area.....chains making a bit of a racket so a bit of lube and parhaps some adjustment in the morning would be good.....had a little shower today about 15 miles short of fort william, by the time I put the waterproofs on it stopped, rode on and caught it up  :rolleyes.....a good day though..see what tomorrow brings....

Update, home now so lets see how good my memory is     :rolleyes........left glen nevis camp site early and jumped back on the A82 north again to ben nevis, went on the gondola  which takes you half way to the chair lifts, think it was about 2200 mtrs......fantastic views of fort william and loch locky...
spent acouple of hours walking round and then back down, at £12 , well worth it   :thumbup

back on the A82 south to fort william, along the shore of loch linnhe then take a right onto A828 past loch creran then a left onto A85 down the  "pass of brander"  fantastic road , then down to loch awe, head north again to round the top of the loch and down the other side and a stop for fuel, turn right onto A819 and glen aray, mostly single track but takes me down to inveraray, onto A83 north again and onto arrocbar, another gem of a road  :)....dont want to get tied up in the glasgow so I take theA814 and headfor the erskine bridge and over the firth of clyde..its getting late and I need a camp site.....lookin at my trusty map I see iam not far from troon....now ive seen this place on the telly with those blokes playing with bats and ballslooks a nice place I thinks and bound to be a camp site there..........bet you scots on here are having a giggle now   :o.......theres not a lot there, certainly no camp sites....daylight is fading, onto Ayr, search google and find 2 campsites not an easy route to find them so take a chance and jump on the A77 heading south in hope I spot one of campsite signs.....atlast I spot one,8 miles off the main road, a place called "the walled garden campsite"...I pull up just as they are locking up for the night, they have room  :)......pitch tent and have a nose around, iam on my own, a few caravan s there but they are not occupied......nowhere to eat or have a beer, no wifi and no phone signal..............so, iam in a walled garden, alone, hungry, no phone or interweb and not too sure where I am..........didn't sleep too well  :eek

Looks like it was a good trip ;) Riding unknown roads with no particular destination is always fun. Every turn brings something new and a sense of adventure that you just can't get in a car.

Well, I made it through the night..... :lol

up early and its raining, pack the tent away wet, it weighs a ton, can really feel it on the back of the bike now.....ride the 8 miles and get onto the A77, head south on the coastal road to stranraer and breakfast.....a big one  :)
M

the rain has got to me now and the thought of pitching and sleeping in the wet tent is enough for me to call it a day...or 8....so I head for home...A75..carlisle....sorry nick, missed you again   :o...A6..kendal....M6...birmingham..onto A44 a road I know well, down to oxford....one last fill up and 30 miles iam home in high wycombe, south bucks....

Total mileage for the trip.......2071.6 miles.........best bit, apple cross......worst bit...the walled garden campsite, sorry guys just not how i wanted the day to end.....

Would I do it again........yes, ive only just scratched the surface...
