:lol      not planning on  going east, near or far....... :lol

Leaving shortly and Iam heading north, not sure where but hope to do at least 250/300 miles today, which should get me somewhere near the yorkshire dales, or there abouts........really want to get a bit further today, but thats probably about my limit before the old body starts to complain, going to jump on the motorway for the first 100/150 just to eat the miles, stop for a late breakfast and then find some decent roads   :)

no real plans/route but I do have a couple of places I will be visiting.will try to update as I go but relying on wifi so might be a bit intermittent. ?...suggestions welcome....go on nows your chance to tell me where to go   :lol

To all you foccers going to work ...............have a nice day     :pokefun

Probably too late, but get yourself to Settle, go up to Hawes, then Thwaite, Keld, Kirkby Stephen, Brough, Middleton-in-Teesdale, Alston. Great roads. PM incoming. I've used a campsite just on the outskirts of Hawes which was ok; unfortunate it's still school holidays though.

Jumped on the M1 this morning just so I could laugh at everyone going to work.. :lol....managed 150 miles .bored out of my tiny mind  :\....exit 29 took me to chesterfield and a quick look at the twister steeple....didn't want to go anywhere near manchester or sheffield so rode through the peak district, baslow, A623 chapel-en-firth, glossop, holme moss, holmfirth.....got a bit messy then, got tied up in the  traffic around huddersfield/halifax only had a small scale map which didn't show the back roads, got a bigger scale one now  :thumbup.........out to keighley and onto A629 to skipton, gateway to the dales.......where I am now having something to eat before findind a campsite in a small village with a friendly pub..... :)

Great minds mr trimmer....thats the route iam just about to take....

Evening all....yep, great campsite in ullapool and only £8 per night, showers not up to much but the view more than makes up for it.....

so, where have I been today, headed south down the A835, took a left onto A832 and got lost   :lol....made it to applecross eventually but not the route i had planned....great fish and chips while looking at the view....on the way back I found the road I wanter to take, the one with the steep climb and switchbacks....absolutely fantastic....if you ever go to the highlands this has got to be no1......stayed a while taking piccies and admiring the view then back down.. :eek...to lochcarron for fuel and ice cream....head east on the A890 a lovley little twisty road 50/60 mph in top all the way, take a left onto A87 and onto invergarry, right onto the A82...used this road before on this trip and possibly my favourite, its getting late and I nedd to find a campsite, been slow all day nows the time tk speed things up a bit.....yeeeeeeeeee  harrrrrrrrrr.....iam soon in fort william grinning from ear to ear  :lol........tenting at glen nevis campsite tonight, very popular with climbers and walkers and lone bikers on fazers.........oh, thers a pub next door, which is where iam now.....cheers foccers....

Update, home now so lets see how good my memory is     :rolleyes........left glen nevis camp site early and jumped back on the A82 north again to ben nevis, went on the gondola  which takes you half way to the chair lifts, think it was about 2200 mtrs......fantastic views of fort william and loch locky...
spent acouple of hours walking round and then back down, at £12 , well worth it   :thumbup

back on the A82 south to fort william, along the shore of loch linnhe then take a right onto A828 past loch creran then a left onto A85 down the  "pass of brander"  fantastic road , then down to loch awe, head north again to round the top of the loch and down the other side and a stop for fuel, turn right onto A819 and glen aray, mostly single track but takes me down to inveraray, onto A83 north again and onto arrocbar, another gem of a road  :)....dont want to get tied up in the glasgow so I take theA814 and headfor the erskine bridge and over the firth of clyde..its getting late and I need a camp site.....lookin at my trusty map I see iam not far from troon....now ive seen this place on the telly with those blokes playing with bats and ballslooks a nice place I thinks and bound to be a camp site there..........bet you scots on here are having a giggle now   :o.......theres not a lot there, certainly no camp sites....daylight is fading, onto Ayr, search google and find 2 campsites not an easy route to find them so take a chance and jump on the A77 heading south in hope I spot one of campsite signs.....atlast I spot one,8 miles off the main road, a place called "the walled garden campsite"...I pull up just as they are locking up for the night, they have room  :)......pitch tent and have a nose around, iam on my own, a few caravan s there but they are not occupied......nowhere to eat or have a beer, no wifi and no phone signal..............so, iam in a walled garden, alone, hungry, no phone or interweb and not too sure where I am..........didn't sleep too well  :eek

Looks like it was a good trip ;) Riding unknown roads with no particular destination is always fun. Every turn brings something new and a sense of adventure that you just can't get in a car.

Well, I made it through the night..... :lol

up early and its raining, pack the tent away wet, it weighs a ton, can really feel it on the back of the bike now.....ride the 8 miles and get onto the A77, head south on the coastal road to stranraer and breakfast.....a big one  :)
M

the rain has got to me now and the thought of pitching and sleeping in the wet tent is enough for me to call it a day...or 8....so I head for home...A75..carlisle....sorry nick, missed you again   :o...A6..kendal....M6...birmingham..onto A44 a road I know well, down to oxford....one last fill up and 30 miles iam home in high wycombe, south bucks....

Total mileage for the trip.......2071.6 miles.........best bit, apple cross......worst bit...the walled garden campsite, sorry guys just not how i wanted the day to end.....

Would I do it again........yes, ive only just scratched the surface...
