Thanks for all your advice guys, I went for an AGV K3 after all in matt black from J&S on the A41 just outside Wolves. They even price matched, so I got it for £127.49.

Hi WayneUK ,

Yes they are, I found all the bits, but no bolts, each bar bolts to the frame using two or three OEM bolts, and clamps to the down tube, the clamps require a couple of M6 or M8 bolts on each bar.

I'm 75% sure the bike's OEM bolts are long enough, when I bought the bike, the first thing I did was to remove the crash bars and retain the mounting bolts as they also secure the engine mounting bracket to the frame.

Cheers
George

I think I got a Gen 1 panel in my garage (it may be L/H), if I have, I'm pretty sure its perfect, I'll post some pics when I find it out - does £25 inc. postage sound OK as long as it's the literally the right one?

Sorry in the delay, Because it's quite bulky and weighs over 2Kg, the postage would be around a tenner.

The undertray is completely standard and has not been modified, it's in great condition. The indicators are still attached, but I'll take them off if you don't need them.

I'll post some photos tonight if you still want.

I plugged in a replacement LED flasher relay, I think it was about a fiver or so from Amazon. The relay is just by the battery, it takes about 30 seconds to swap, that's all I needed to do. Easier than foccin about with resistors.

I have a full set of original crash bars that bolt directly onto the frame, they were on the bike when I bought it. I took them off and now just take up room in my garage. There are no bolts as I had to retain them, I'm guessing the bike's OEM bolts are long enough to mount the bars.

The front part of the guard clamps onto the down tube on either side of the frame, these are missing bolts as I needed them for something else, replacements should be easy to source.

If you're interested £50 plus postage.

Cheers

These are the indicators on my bike, but I have an aftermarket  tail tidy undertray so it looks different to a stock bike.

I'd love to keep it myself, I already have a GEN 1 plus the mother in law didn't want to keep it in the family (believe me, I asked numerous times, but I have to respect her wishes), she wouldn't even let her own son have it.

I have an original FZ1 5LV fairing, it's had some damage, but is easily repairable it is Silver Tech S3 colour.

It is cracked between the headlights (easily fixed with a plastic welder or ABS glue, there is also a scrape above the crack, again, it is an easy repair. £75

I also have a glass fibre fairing for the same bike, I've sprayed Silver Tech S3. It is a patten part, I fitted it to my bike and it fits perfectly, the only downside is that's a bit heavier than the original £120.

I've since decided to convert my bike to a streetfighter, hence parts are not required.

I've also got headlights, infill panels, crash bars, indicators and an undertray.

I am in wolverhampton,

Hi all

My father-in-law passed away last year and my M-I-L asked my to try and sell his bike for her.

The bike is a rare beast, it is a 2007 Fazer 1000 with an amazing and genuine 7124 miles. The bike is pretty much immaculate with a couple of insignificant marks. I've had it running this morning and it started first time. It also has heated grips.
Here are some photos.

The tyres have plenty of tread but have a squared profile because of his riding style, it make the bike horrible to ride, however new tyres will fix it.

The bike is in Walsall, West Midlands

Any questions, please ask.

Clock swap failed - I just couldn't the the R1 clock to register speed or for the fan to kick in so I put the original clocks on, here are some pics.

Hmm, image link hasn't worked

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / 758 Bars
« on: 01 August 2019, 12:07:30 pm »
I just swapped my standard FZ1 bars for Renthal 758s with the intension of fitting bar-end mirrors (which I have already bought). I've chopped about 50mm off each side of the 758s, drilled and fitted them along with all the switchgear etc.; perfect fit.

I went to fit the bar-end mirrors (they are the expanding clamp type and insert into the end of the handlebar), however there is an insert in the bar (recessed by about 25mm) that is preventing the clamps from being fully inserted into the bars. If I hadn't have chopped off 50mm, there wouldn't have been an issue. The insert looks like plastic tubing. I'm not sure what the purpose is and is it safe to bore this out 25mm so I can get the clamp in?

Thoughts anyone?

Wow, that display looks brilliant, let me know when you have started production, I'll have one.

Does it also trigger the fan?

Well, I tried and failed, I tried everything I could think of to get the R1 speedo to work, but no dice, the fan didn't kick in either, even though the temp got up to 92. Everything else worked,

I think I have a duff  R1 5JJ cockpit.

I unsoldered everything and put the original Fazer cockpit back on and everything works just fine, the cockpit is foccin ugly though, as far as I know, apart from rewiring the cockpit plug, it should be a straight swap.

Now just need to mount the indicators, tidy the wiring, swap the bars and fit some bar-end mirrors.

Oh BTW, it was just a coincidence the mileage on the two speedos were only a couple of hundred miles apart (18.9K Fazer and 19.1K R1).

Thanks for your help,
