split link cam chains
« on: 03 July 2012, 06:55:33 am »
I've had a bit of topend noise for a while so I took out the cam chain tensioner and it only has two notches left on it so I think its time for a new cam chain. I was wondering what people experiences were with split link cam chains? Have you use them or would you trust them?

I've used one with no problems on my first Mk1 which I did 20,000miles rattle free on.

My second Mk1 needs one now, won't hesitate to get one.

I've never used one but I've use final drive chains with a link you have to fit yourself and they have been OK so I don't see why a cam chain should be much different.
